My aunt has a lanai on the 7th floor of her Waikiki beach apartment. Its not exactly roughing it, but sleeping with the coastal breeze blowing and the constant sound of crashing waves is lovely. One night I had a tsunami dream while sleeping there though, not so good.

I would sleep outside but it's a pain in the butt constantly moving my bed around.
