Give it to me Raw

Raw has been going really great- I've pretty much stayed raw besides having some organic coffee and some soup one day. Other than that I've been doing great! Altogether, I've lost about 5 lbs. I think- I feel like I've slimmed up more than that, but I know that sometimes with raw it takes longer for the number to register on the scale. I have watermelon, tons of organic tomatoes, organic cukes, organic greens, organic broccoli, organic celery, romaine lettuce, mushrooms, huge bag of raw corn (although I'm scared to eat it b/c of gmos- does anyone else eat corn that is not organic?) raw nuts and raw granola and lots of Larabars plus bellpeppers and okra from my garden- so i have NO excuse not to eat raw! I've also been running 2-3 miles everyday along with the gym for 1 hour daily- the only thing that I need to work on is drinking more water and less coffee-once I do that I will feel 100% better!! Those are my goals for this week! To see more about what I am doing/eating visit my blog at http://www.fitandfabulouslife.com/. xoxo~Melinda

I didn't realize that corn had a lot of great nutrients- maybe I'll give it a try especially since I have about 30 ears of corn- that or give it to family & friends.

I've had dandelion tea before- it's supposed to be great at removing toxins as well- I should try it again.

Thanks for your help and support!

Organic corn can be really tough to find, and outside of organic, non-GMO corn is almost impossible to find. It took me a long time to decide to eating corn at all, for that reason, and for the fact that it is considered a moldy vegetable which can encourage candida growth. Ultimately, though, corn has so many amazing nutrients, I think it is worth it in moderation. If we take care of our elimination and immune systems, sometimes we have to trust that our bodies will do what they were made to do by filtering and removing toxins and protecting us.

Dandelion root can be a great coffee substitute, too. There are coffee substitutes you can buy, or you can get the root, roast it, grind it up in a coffee grinder, and brew as usual!

Kudos on the exercise routine! I could take some ques from you there! :-)

Hi Katrina!
I do love yerba mate and I do have Teecino as well- I can give it up I just have to decide to do it. I think if I were to give it up it would help me to lose the rest of my weight. I love green tea as well-I think I should start my skipping my afternoon coffee that I have daily- so today no afternoon coffee, instead I'll have green tea or yerba mate! Thanks for the support! :)

Hey Melinda, doing great!
Try yerba mate if you want something to replace the coffee, but still give you a similar ..zing.
Or even rooibos tea blends are sooo lovely to me right now :)

I haven't been running at all the last two weeks and i'm starting to feel like a slob! ..I'm missing the energy and strength it gave me..

Keep it up!

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
