i have these thoughts all the time about what is really "good" for us. have we progressed at all or are we just making a bigger mess??
now that i have realized that the best kinds of foods are the ones that have been tampered with the least, it occurred to me... perhaps most of the things we do can never really beat what is most easily done with the simplest of ingredients. is all of this new technology really better or are we paying for it in some way? should we really keep trying to invent the perfect futuristic things to "help" us or should we focus on going back to the most basic of living? just like we try to invent the most perfect kind of food based on all of our "scientific discoveries," perhaps there is no real way to live well without eliminating many of the unnecessary additives in our lives. to learn to live without. to regress, so to speak.
could we really be happy without things, without gadgets, without comforts, without numbness, without modern entertainment?
could we go back to a point where we are amazed by the wings of a butterfly, by the smell of a flower, by the trickling of water?
could we perhaps find the meaning of joy in a world where we are not destined to "be" something, but rather are living of our own volition?
and will this ever be possible in this lifetime? to be in a place like this? a utopia of sorts. where food is not manufactured by any human, it is manufactured by nature. where people are treated with respect and love and everyone is beautiful because they abound with health and vitality. where there is a true community of peace, of friendship.
do our furry friends have it right and have they had for all this time? perhaps we could learn a lot from them.
is improving on technology really helping us? should we keep this progression going.
these are just some of the many questions on my mind these days...
