pets: dilemma
i just been asked to take care of a very very cute kitten. not in such good shape, poor baby, needs attention. but here starts the dilemma: grew up with cats, loved them all madly, and am missing the company of a cat, especially of a kitten. but am thinking a bit differently now too....
1) Is having a cat as a pet "natural"? is the place of a cat on my bed, cuddling a human?
2) feeding.... Yes i am vegan, but i dont mind so much giving meat to eat to a pet cat, i do understand raw meat is the cat's natural diet. But i would mind now giving raw beef or tuna to a cat, for example. Would a cat eat these in nature? how would it catch a cow????
any one went through this change of mind over the years? i never thought i would! still love cats, but as an animal, not as a pet... But if i have to take care of this baby, i would like to know what is best for her, rawfood wise and else.

Best way IMO is,
Neuter(way to many orphan cats out there),feed raw meats(It's closes to thier natural diet) & let her do her thing outdoors(poop,play). Depending on her temperament, she would probably only come home to eat & cuddle.

Comment by crueltyfreeme on November 11, 2009 at 5:39am - "we are responible for that which we have domesticated" that being said, the little guy will thrive on loving attention and chicken cut into small pieces w/ the occasional chopped up heart for the taurine.i put a small amount of a holistic canned food w/ it to entice my two 1 y old cats to eat it.or try a bit of tuna w/ the chicken to get him to eat. a vet check is very important as it may have parasites (poor baby) a cat as an animal? do u mean tigers ? because a house cat is def. bred to be a pet. not their fault.

Feed him chicken if you're really concerned. Take care of him. :) They're so sweet... I miss having a cat.

I think they are our natural evolutionary companions... call it what you will, its just being a custodian, a protector of the animal, and you pet it!

I lost my ear candling virginity last week, lol. My friend and I didn't have any problems, just really relaxing. So do it with a friend so someone can watch the flame. have fun :)
