Give it to me Raw

I know that some people do better with gradual changes. I am not quite sure yet what works for me though I have been aiming to all raw for 6 months now and I dip in and out of cooked foods and even some really obnoxious sweets here and there. I am venturing out and want to try to maintain 90% raw and start this P90X program. I am a little nervous about failing, but I guess if I fail it would be better than chickening out before I even start. I have heard this program is really tough and though I am not in the best shape I do stay active. I just feel really ready to lose my extra fat, gain energy, not groan when I hoist myself off the floor, or tucker out during sex. I really feel like I want to do something that is more IN-your-face rather than tip-toeing around "trying" to get myself to workout and eat how I should: I want to just commit to 90 days of this and from there-maybe step back into lots of yoga and walking or biking. Guess we will see how I feel.
Does anyone have experience with P90X? What do you think? I feel like it will be torture for the first two weeks and then I will get over it and feel great. Thanks in advance for wisdom.

thanks js, i definitely feel the same way, but i am hoping this program will be a good motivator. i am glad that i didn't have to purchase it, just borrowing it. lol, i was walking a lot the past two weeks but it is a dry 110 in az right now, haha. thanks for the advice everyone.

I'm probably eating about 90% raw and just started p-90 last week. i have been more drawn to the upper body routines and less drawn to the other more cardio routines but I have decided to stick with everything. i figure if I stick with doing any exercise routine for an hour a week, six times a week i am going to see results. i really like the abripper routine and have already started seeing results. i took an actual hot yoga class this week instead of doing the yoga routine and found that was a nice change of pace. all in all, I am probably on my way to getting into the best shape of my life and will emerge at the end of this program with a much better understanding of what exercise and routines work the best for me.

other advice, is to just do as many reps or do any exercise as well as you can. some things I couldn't do the first time I did I routine, I could do the second time and will get better at over time. ok, stick with it and have fun!!

I actually just started this program too. My first recommendation, since I am into my second day, is to take it easy. It is tempting to go all out and try and copy everything the fitness trainers on the DVD are doing but I would avoid it. I am terribly sore and wish I has eased my way into it a bit more... You don't want to discourage yourself. I am not saying don't be hard on yourself, because the idea of this program is too push yourself to your limits, but you don't want to rip your muscles too shreds on your first day. Try and modify the routines a bit. They show you how. They also have different programs for different results, 3 total. I think I am going to switch to their "lean" one because it is a bit easier! As far as being 90% raw and doing this, I am sure it is totally possible. Might as well try. I am going too! I have only been 70-80% raw recently but am pushing for 100%. P90X also offers a fitness test on their website so that you can see if you are at the appropriate fitness level to handle the program.

p90x is not that challenging if you are in shape some what. I have done it...thought it was easier than Tae Bo...If you have done tae bo you could use this info. Really it is all a personal conception, Enjoy the RIde. Blessings.

Thank you for your positive words everyone. I've been raw for 8 months and it was simply dissappointing to have gone through such a binge! Besides I felt physically awful! Onward we march from here! lol
