I know what you’re thinking… Actually, I don’t. I have a horrible feeling you think this post is about being intimate with a tub of guacamole and some flax crackers. It isn’t. That’s for another time.
Moving on.
Remember I wrote this post about honouring the part of you that wants to succumb to the thing you’re telling yourself you can’t have? Well, what if you’d really rather not go there but you think you might? How do you negate or minimise the resulting stress on body and mind?
Well my dear, let me introduce you to the concept of nutritious foreplay, which I just invented right here in front of your very eyes. A moment history will never forget I’m sure you’ll agree. That totally makes sense in my head.
So, in between wondering whether you should continue to read this blog because clearly I’ve turned in to a right loon, you’re asking:
Well, I’m glad you asked. Nutritious foreplay is another phrase for the ‘have this first‘ principle.
It goes like this.
Ok, I want to eat/drink X, and by Neptune, I’m gonna have it. But first, I’m gonna have myself some Y. So what’s Y?
Y is something nutritious. Something raw/healthy. Something you know you’ll love. Something like a green smoothie, a bit of fruit, a nori wrap, some dip with crackers…whatever. Just something to help cancel out the less than healthy thing you just gotta have. You don’t have to have your Y right this second before your X, it can even be earlier in the day. Let’s say you know you’re going out to a party and you might have some pizza or something. So you decide a few hours ahead of time you’re going to rock it with a super, turbo-charged green smoothie. But having it before also works just the same:
You see how that works? I failed maths (don’t judge) but even I can see the logic in that formula right there.
This whole thing works in two ways. First of all, it means your body is still getting some good nutrition, which will help it deal with any less than healthy choices later. Secondly, you’ll find you probably won’t be able to consume or enjoy X as much as you thought you would. So X becomes a bit of an anti-climax (yes, I’m consistent with my themes).
They call that WIN-WIN, my friend.
Now, before you get your panties in a twist (I’m getting good at this), yes, it looks like an invitation to consume twice as much food as you normally would, and we’re not about over-eating! However, in my experience, this principle gets to work super quick and fucks with the part of your mind that says ‘I can’t have and I WANT‘.
Instead of saying NO, you’re saying YES! Yes, I can have X, and I’m going to have X, but just as soon as I’ve hadY. You’ll find that this takes the power away from the ‘bad’ stuff and you train your body to make better choices instinctively. Helping with The Shift. Helping to bring you to that place where you start craving raw food over cooked.
So try it baby. See if it works for you.
I’m off to think of more blogs that don’t involve references to sex, foreplay, orgasms or lizard people. That shit grows tired let me tell you…

Comment by Chris on February 7, 2012 at 11:46pm This is a GREAT strategy! And don't stop all these wonderful, shocking posts about sex, foreplay, orgasms and lizard people! I'll just go read a little reader's digest, or a children's story, or maybe some bible and THEN read the "lizard people have multiple orgasms after raw foreplay" post! ;)

It is a more advance Hatha Yoga Asana. You should know the basics of Yoga before trying. Even if you can't try, it is beautiful to watch. Recording in Yoga Vidya Ashram Meinberg.
