Give it to me Raw

Sara Tonin

Not 100% (yet!) but an interesting observation...

Part observation, part confession, probably not of interest to anyone but ME, but I wanted to post anyway...

That bag of popcorn? That lovely, cheesy bag of Trader Joe's popcorn that I know so well - that bag I have eaten at least three times a month/once a week - as in THE WHOLE BAG - yes, I've eaten a bag at one sitting - happily too, I might add...

I've never been a binger, or a chip-eater, and I'm not sure why this behavior started up in my forty-first year of my life... I never felt horrible about eating it - it'sjust something I did, and then, "NEXT" - time for something new... I had no problems starting over.

So... my best friend bought me a bag today. (I told her to bring me a surprise...) And it's been a week since I've had any, so I thought, Ok...

Three handfulls, and it didn't feel right. Not a trace of guilt (I don't believe in that $h!+) but an actual physical feeling of it not working for me anymore... maybe a little glimpse of more good things to come...

Turning a corner here, I just might be....

Ooh I can't wait till I get to this point where snacks no longer create that feel good response in me! Congrats, this is probably a really big step for your body! ^.^

It was something I had never experienced before - like I said, I have never restricted myself food-wise (but never had any really "bad" habits either) and so to feel this slight twinge of "nuh-uh..." was funny...

And very interesting about the different foods being directly linked to effects of differing emotions...

My beloved Aunt fell and broke her hip 3 weeks ago, and it's been a tough time recuperating for her (poor Dear - she's 91), so there has been a lot of driving to the facility where she is (almost an hour North, depending on traffic) and general concern about her spirits and her decision to try to recover or not... I guess it's kind of heavy stuff... and my back is on the verge of "going out" on me, which has been frustrating - I haven't had this happen for a loooong while, and am trying to deal with this, too....soft, non-invasive chiropractic work and massage, but that can be/IS expensive... I broke down and took 2 ibuprofin, something I haven't touched in over 6 months... don't want o get onto meds at ALL.... sorry for the rant!

Thank you, Lady Katherine for sharing that insight... and to Miss Kim for your observations and support...

that IS such an interesting observation for you...and exciting!! your body is tuning into vibrations of the foods and recognizing when it wants to get something out! i have had many experiences with this type of thing on my raw journey!! i also learned that different types of foods pacify different emotions!!
dairy, craving come when grief and sadness are present
crunchy, fried snacks come when anger or anxiety is present
i thought those are interesting!!
i loved just letting go of the guilt and shame that once hovered over my choices in my raw journey, now if i get off track, i can feel it inside...lesson learned and next time i will think twice!

because I know my body hears everything I say and believes it.

I just do not see where a little treat here and there is bad. Last time I got too strict with myself it created a major binge that went on a long time. Now I just eat as good as I can and call it all good.

I don't think our soil has nearly the same trace mineral concentration, so I think unrefined salt can be helpful. The seawater example doesn't fly because, like any substance, what is good in small amounts can be bad in large amounts. BTW- I've ne...
