Give it to me Raw

Okay so I figured that it would be a great idea to write out a plan while I am on the MC so I don't get sidetracked and I can come back on here and read this post and be motivated to go through with this (thanks Michelle for the idea).

My plan is to do the MC for 4-5 days and maybe more (I would love to do 10 days!) depending on how I feel and how well the cleanse goes. I plan on drinking some organic yerba mate during the cleanse as well to help with the hunger/cravings.

Reasons for doing the Master Cleanse

To Lose weight (need to lose almost 20 lbs.)-this is my main reason
To get off of coffee once again (I successfully quit for over 1 year then started back)
To cleanse my body- liver, colon, etc.
To see if my skin clears up- try to diagnose my melasma issue (possibly weak liver?)
To get more things accomplished- not focus on eating so much
To try the MC because I've always been curious about it- have to see for myself
Also would love to blog about my experience- hopefully positive
To learn how to have more self- control over food- help me cleanse my taste buds and be ready to go back on raw!

Peanut- I've done juice fast for about 4 days- I've never gone any more than that- but I like the juice fast as well. I've not done enough of any type of long fasts- so we will see how this goes- I know from experience that it's mostly a mind thing anyway. I just need to conquer that and I will do good.

Hi Jessica! I have been eating mostly raw for the past couple of weeks- lots of organic salads, raw fruits, some freshly juiced fruits, etc. I would love to stay on it for at least 10 days, but since it is my first one I am just going to see how it goes first. Thanks so much for your support!

Thanks Gena! I am probably going to start the MC hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday- I have to wait until our friend finishes helping us on our siding- I have to help as well and don't want to be doing the fast during working so strenuously. But I'll be posting everyday on the MC- I wish I could start now!

Hi there! I just got off the master cleanse at 24 days! I'm sure you've heard this speal before but keep in mind the focus of the cleanse is to detox your body... the weightloss is an added bonus! But if you're coming from a sad diet you may want to be especially patient with your body as it will be shocked. I would suggest working on the transition for almost a full week prior to starting the cleanse. Try to focus on fruits and veggies as much as possible, lowering your intake towards the end of the week. In the grand scheme of things 5 days is really just going to scratch the surface but it's a great start. You may experience some detoxing symptoms... headache, nausea, etc. Try to pamper yourself through this time... usually lasts about 3 days. I didn't have any because my diet was already pretty clean. I began at 182lbs, and ended at 160. But I stayed on it for 24 days! Good luck lady friend and if you have any questions or are in need of any support you can look me up! I'd love to hear how it goes!

Hi Melinda: I wish you luck! I didn't have a great experience with the master cleanse (did 7 days), but some folks love it. I found it too sugary, and it made me feel a little wacky. I did lose weight on it, though, and it's very cheap.

I really loved doing a juice cleanse (did 14 days). That made me feel very calm, and I also lost a bunch of weight on that. I still drink green juices, and plan to do short juice cleanses every other month to keep in the swing of it... makes me feel really good.

Look forward to hearing what works for you!

I forgot to put that on there- probably 4-5 days, more depending on how I feel. I just have a dog and husband to take care of - no job or kids at the moment. Thanks for the support! I am definitely going to need it since this is my first MC!

How long are you planning on doing the cleanse? What kind of responsibilities do you have to meet while you are cleansing (job, pets, kids, etc)? Good Luck!
