I just got back from a fantastic vacation in Dallas. 10 days away really was refreshing. And I love how being gone makes me love the mountains and my home so much more. I had a great time with my family, great time with friends, great time at Bliss Cafe... yes, I spent a lot of time there. I think I tried almost everything on the menu. Almost.

I tried the Sea Salad Sandwich which was reminscent of a tuna salad sandwich, the Veggie Sandwich was one of my favorites - avocado makes everything good.
The Yo! Greek Rap was awesome

- I think the chopped up olives made the wrap.
The Bliss Burger I had twice

(once with an onion bread because they were out of the regular kamut based bun and then the regular burger for my birthday lunch treat) so tasty, the Rawko-Taco Plate I just ate bites off of when my mom ordered it - excellent!! But I mostly stay away from corn and tomatoes because of the inflammation factors of both.
I tried bites of both the Naked Pizza and the Party Pizza

- man, oh, man, also I had tastes of the Rawsagna Supreme - cashew cheese is bomb, and the Thai noodle Bowl was another of my favorites - I had it twice as well.
The Elixirs were awesome.

I had the Chocolate Bliss, Rainforest Bliss, Bliss 125, Paradise Lemonade, Noni Fire, Gold Blush Rush, Hemp Horchata, Minty Hemp and a sip or two of my Dad's order of the Mayan Ascension. That's not even getting into the desserts I had.
At least I didn't try the
actual menu. That would have been a raw experience. Bliss is Dallas's only raw restaurant (that I know of). It was so much fun to be able to go out to eat and share raw foods with my family and friends. I took my folks, (my Dad meet me there a couple of times over his lunch hour) my grandparents, my 1% raw (after eating RawTacos at Bliss;0)) friend JoAnn, my sister-in-law Marie and my other brother's girlfriend Kim - among others. I was happy to see that Bliss was so busy each day with a wide variety of people, some raw, some curious, and who knows who else.
Of course, being a temporary Bliss regular I made friends with all the Bliss staff!

They even gave me a Sheezcake with a candle in it on my birthday and came out and sang to me. So much fun.
Speaking of my birthday - it was also a success! Not only were there various parties and gifts and laughter and love but another birthday means I'm still alive and loving life! I cannot beat that.

Huzzah.
I made the Cafe Gratitude Raw German Chocolate Cake Recipe for my birthday cake as planned. A definite score! Even more definitely of a score when I drowned the cake in raw strawberry sauce. Delish! It was huge. I had giant pieces four days in a row and shared the rest.

My cousins and aunt tried bites of the cake and my aunt told me, "It was really good. I didn't think I'd like it but I did."
So there you go. One of my cousins is going on a two week raw trial perhaps because of a conversation she and I had? Awesome! It's fun to be able to share health and ideas with others.
I got a bit of a tan while I was home. I think that qualifies my trip as a vacation. Getting a Tan = Vacation. And although it was humid and hot, it wasn't as humid or hot as I'd expected it to be, so I was pleasantly surprised.
