I've been eating a raw vegan diet for over 15 years 100%. After a recent interview with Dr. Stanly Bass, many people are asking if I'm still 100% raw vegan. Here is my answer in today's video.
Bone density is mostly created by weight bearing movement, not food. As far as the rest? *shrugs* I've got friends who've been vegetarian for 30+ years. You can see them on YouTube ~ check ZenKahuhna. 100% vegan ~ high raw. They're currently vegan.
O.k., so, the answer here as I see it is, lots of high fat, lots of dehydrated... sounds like not much in the way of fresh. Not saying people need to stay raw but dairy? Not going that way meself.
I have a very simple solution which suits even the busiest city-dweller lifestyle and stops all the stress and arguemnest (for me, anyway)!
Why are people always talking (and arguing) about steamed vegetables and dairy/eggs when they find 100 raw isn't working for them? Why are they forgetting the one food group that people seem to avoid like the plague when they are raw, and even when they stop being 100% raw? Are we all so indoctrinated by the anti-carb craze?
What about SPROUTED "COOKED" GRAINS? The Essene bread I eat would be classed by rawfoodists as "cooked" because its baking temp, while very low, is higher than the magic cut-off. Yes, I could have just said sprouted, but I added "cooked" because I found I just cannot get the same benefits from raw sprouted grains.
But sure, if you are raw and not feeling good, try basing your meals around LOTS of sprouted grains instead of high-fats or high-fruit, and see if that helps!
I found both cooked grains and raw grains make me tired and low in energy, but SPROUTED BAKED Essene bread gives me vitality and grounding and is quick, convenient, easy, and I only need 2 slices /day, 1 extra if I do LOTS of exercise - how many calories and needless nuts and fruit volume and $$$ does THAT prevent? (For extra grain-type benefits, I also have about 1/4 cup freshly ground flaxseed/day most days, have found that is what I need).
To al you fruit fanatics out there - Sprouted Essene bread is NATURALLY SWEET, SWEET, SWEET! (and so is pre-sprouted cooked brown rice)
And I also eat some organic yoghurt nearly every day (I agree the goat milk would be betetr eaten as ABC live-culture yoghurt) mixed with flaxoil on my dinner salad. I've found I need it!
On weekends, I also have (all-organic) - 1 cooked dinner (Asian-style, stir-steamed, no oil/fat, lots of different veggies, with pre-germinated cooked brown rice) and a cooked breakfast (also all-organic - 2 poached eggs, baked beans, steamed tomatoes + spinach).
I will also have a cooked meal on SPECIAL OCCASIONS for social reasons, choosing fish (in preference to heavy cheesy vegeatarian dishes) + veg + salad + fruit if possible. On these occasions I avoid eating ANY refined white rice or bread or pasta. If I was REALLY forced to for politeness reasons, I might have to eat these dead foods, and with certain family members once a year I might HAVE to toy with some meat! As I am in good health and look after myself well 99.9% of the time, I can make these very rare compromises - takes all the stress away for me and allows some enjoyment of social and family occasions - happiness, friends and family is important to health too, you know!
So, by eating just 2 slices per day of Essene bread, this is how simple my day is - and for the fruit-fanatics who can't deny that sprouted grains are SWEET (their usual criticism of using grains instead of fruit to achieve their idealised low-fat diet) but want to say that sprouted grains are not "natural", I say how "natural" are bicycles, houses and clothes? Humans have brains and hands and we are tool-makers and tool-users. We have to use our brains to work out what technology is helpful and what is harmful!
Look at how easy this is! I'm feeling great , and people are complimenting me on how well I look!
Your body may be craving fats for the brain- so this may be something to look into. On another thread I wrote about manganese. It is reall important for enzyme activation. You should look it up. It is high in pineapple and pumpkin seeds and to a lesser degree in kale and some other foods. It is in italian chestnuts that are on sale now. That is a nut to look into as well because it is low in fat as well. Goat milk is super high in fat. To reach the rda of fat you could have 1 8oz glass of goat milk and 2 oz of nuts per day. I don't know if you have been looking into this. You obviously do not have a weight problem so how much fat you eat may not concern you.
But it seems like essene bread made with sprouted spelt would be better for you and sprouted garbanzos for calories with less fat.

All this is very interesting and ultimately frustrating. For obvious reasons. Write me if you wish.

Quite sad to hear, considering everything you have ever taught has been vegan.
Personally, whatever nutrients you think animal products are providing I'd rather get from a pill. That being said, I'm curious to know what exact benefits you believe to be getting from animal products.
I know that when people say they feel "better" after drinking coffee, it's not because they received some missing nutrients from the coffee that they weren't getting from their diet. Feeling better after eating another animals secretions might just be your bodies immune system on high alert.
I'm interested in knowing what the folks at Hippocrates think of this, since Dr. Clement still considers animal products to be the most detrimental food to human health.
I understand your personal decision to include dairy products and cooked food, Paul. I do not, however, understand the need to allege that it is not possible to get everything one needs from a 100%raw vegan diet. There are many different ways to go about a 100% raw vegan diet, and as we are all essentially pioneers of this area of nutrition, yes, some of us will probably come up short on certain nutrients, especially on a high-fat diet. Have you tried lowering your dietary fat content, eliminating nuts, cutting out dehydrated food and salt, sticking to mono-meals, etc.? Wishing you the best in your health journey.

Paul, what tests do you recommend for the average rawfooder? Can we get these at Quest Diagnostics or should we get them somewhere else? I would think CBC, glands, heavy metals, bone mass, some minerals, b12, metabolic panel, lipid panel, complete urine would be good? Do you trust jashpal's EAV/EDS or hair analysis for any of this?

Wow, a reunion of the Atlantean Princess and Her Beloved!
What we believe is what we believe. The Essene Gop says exactly what I would say and what should be said. So to me they are the best scripture out there. I like other religious writings as well and think they are valuable tools in teaching morals bu…
