Got Kids? Want to feed them veggie? In Florida that makes you criminal, find out what you can do about it!

An innocent Florida family has been convicted of child neglect and sentenced to 15 years probation for feeding their kids a raw, vegan diet. Their case is on appeal to the US Supreme Court and we can help them set the record straight and set a new standard for the health of our children in the future.
The courts themselves are on record as being in conflict with each other in this case. The criminal court ruled for 15 years probation for feeding the children a raw vegan diet while at the same time the family court ordered the children be placed on a raw food diet with soy. In the family court all the radiological reports and blood tests performed by the State of Florida on behalf of the prosecutor came back normal. The judge even said, “The state didn’t prove their case against the Andressohn’s” and that’s why he placed the children on a raw food diet with soy.
We have a chance to support the Andressohn’s as they take this case to the Supreme Court and set a precedent for parent’s rights to choose their child’s diet but we must act swiftly as time is running out for them.
Please send $50, $100 or what ever you can afford to the lawyer so that she will take the case in time to make the appeal in early October. If you can help fund their defense (and yours) mail a check to:

Marcia J. Silvers P.A.
2937 S.W. 27th Ave Suite 101
Miami, Florida, 33133

The Andressohn’s have till October 15th to make a motion to the Supreme Court and need to raise $14,500 for attorney fees immediately. Please be generous with your gifts. Thank you very much for your support.
Call Lamoy and she will thank you personally at 786-447-1875.

Pot luck this Sunday 9-20-09 6pm at Lamoy's house to raise money for the case. Call Lamoy for directions.
Thanks

Danny, I am correcting my last statement and clarifying here. The baby died of DiGeorge syndrome and as was noted in the autopsy the exam "could not reveal even a Microscopic trace of a thymus gland". The thymus is responsible for (most importantly of all its functions) the proper development of the Immune system and without an immune system the child is doomed and not because of poor digestion and assimilation of food. The thymus was missing and the baby could not develop properly no matter what you fed the child so food could in no way could be a factor at all in this case, period!
So how could a prosecutor overlook such evidence and charge a family with manslaughter with 4 counts of neglect when the death was clearly the result of a birth defect? What right did they have to put the parents in jail with over $100, 000 bond and take the children away and feed the kids fast food and junk food and give them shots without the parents consent? I am not a prosecutor or a defense lawyer but any one who has ever watched Matlock or Perry Mason could have looked at the autopsy and figured out they had no case for manslaughter when a birth defect is clearly revealed. Actually you wouldn't even need to watch any old lawyer TV shows to realize the cause of death was a birth defect when the autopsy clearly shows the baby was born without a thymus. Even a third grader could have asked the question "what is a thymus?" and "what does not a microscopic trace" of it mean? I'm not saying a 3rd grader is smarter than the persecutor I'm saying the persecutor was clearly smart enough to realize a birth defect from a missing thymus yet still charged them with manslaughter and neglect and got on TV and told the press the children had brain damage for starving their children. This case is not about what you feed a child its about the state charging someone with a crime they did not commit and overlooking the evidence in a rush to condemn a diet they do not understand. Testimony in the case revealed just how good the raw food diet was as the kids all tested "normal" and only "slightly" (that’s right only very "slightly") under the Standard American growth chart. The growth chart is the only evidence the state had for neglect and that should have been thrown out too and it certainly was not enough to convict for manslaughter.
In fact even without a thymus baby Woyah lived 2 times longer than other similar DiGeorge babies due to the level of care given by the parents to feed the child fresh juices from fruits and vegetables, coconut water and even wheat grass juice diluted in the baby's bottle at safe levels. How many parents would even know how to do that or be able to take the time to stretch out the baby's life and give the child the best chance at living? Please donate to the lawyer’s fees to right this wrong. Thank you.

GoldenDreams, I love your comment and that is the point here. No one presecutes children being fed junk but if your baby dies of a birth defect all the evidence of the birth defect will be ignored in order to make an example out of you in the public eye for feeding your child the very best organic raw foods and avoiding the fast food lane. Way to go You get it. I hope you can support with donations before time runs out. See my initial blog for info. and thank you, rawtim

Danny, A baby with DiGeorge is doomed to death no matter what you feed the child it can not digest and assimilate the food properly. However it is interesting to note that the baby in this case lived about twice as long as all other simular babies born with DiGeorge syndrome due to the fact coconut water, fresh vegetable juices and fruit juices and even small amounts of wheatgrass juice was diluted with water and fed the baby and the baby lapped it up and couldn't get enough. And the baby seemed to have a somewhat happy life all things considered. It was loved and cared for and great sacrifice was given by the parents to do so. They should be commended for speding such time and care to give their baby the very best nutrition possible and it even extended the babies life more so than normal. Once people get the facts of this case they would be outraged to find charges of neglect still standing against these fine parents. There is still time for you to help and give a donation. Do not let the state get away with this gross injustice, corruption and misconduct. The media played right into the states hands and once the false charges were made the rush to judgement and immediate condemnation of these parents was on. Due to the fact they were up against the state of Florida Its a miracle they were aquitted of manslaughter and now they have a chance to clear their name and gain their freedom from 15 years of parole for something the state never prooved they did. It was getting swept under the rug and if enough people come to the rescue with $100 or more donations we can take this to the supreme court and help correct the system before it comes after other innocent people who are doing something out of the ordinary like vegetarian or raw foods. Remember the family court ordered the children be placed on a raw foods diet with soy becuase the state did not proove thier case of neglect and malnourishment. The jury even asked the judge what cupible neglegence was and the judge refused to give any explaination. lamoy believes if they had read the definition of culpible neglegence they would have aquitted them of neglect as well. Funny how the judge did not want the jury to know and was happy to have the jury rule without knowing the definition. If you were on a jury wouldn't you demand a law dictionary and look up the term? Thats what they did, they asked the judge for a definition and the judge refused to give them any hint of what they were ruling on. Very suspicious conduct for a judge don't you think? Isn't it his job to insturct the jury?
Now back to your original question. babies do need milk, human mother's milk is best fo humans in fact it is made for humans. Cows milk is made for cows. How many human babies do you see wondering off into the cow pastures and sucking on cow's teats? For that matter how many adult humans will stick their lips to a cows utter and suck out the milk for themselves? But if someone raises the cows (no matter how horific the conditions) and milks the cows and pasturizes the milk and ships it in pretty cartons and keeps it cold then that is a different case huh? Notice how the ads don't say got cow's milk? did you know that pumpkin seed milk or sunflower seed milk has more prtien thatn cows milk and is much more balanced with magnesium and other important minerals to humans and you can make it at home in a blender in a few minutes fresh any day very cheaply?
Do you have any idea what percentage of human mother's milk is protien when a baby needs more protien than a full grown man? You may be surprised to learn its 6.4% and its the perfect amount yet most people think "where are they gonna get their protien" when there is absolutely no one dying of a protien deficiency in the US. You see this case brings up too much important information and the unsubstantiated allegations force the defense to site case studies that proove vegan and raw foods are just fine for babies, children, adults, old people and anyone inbetween. The case was on court tv and a lot of this came out. ITs big and it could mean a different future for you and your family should you decide to support and contribute to the Andressohn fund you would be part of the solution. Thanks Danny we need your help. the time is running out to get the word out and have the money come in before the Oct 15th deadline. the time is now Danny won't you help out?

The child that died had a birth defect its called DiGeorge syndrome, remarkable she lived at least 4 months longer than is typical of a baby with Digeorge due no doubt to the wheatgrass and coconut water and fresh organic fruit juices Lamoy gave her diluted with water of course to a safe level of intake for a baby.
All the evidence for a birth defect was in the autopsy and the medical examiner in the case testified that he wanted to list natural causes but instead was persuaded to make the cause of death read malnourishment, and to this day the only charge still standing is malnourishment, and that is why it has to go to the supreme court because they do no want to admit the error in rush to judge and blame diet while ignoring the evidence, clearly there is plenty of worng doing the state would rather be buried under the rug. By supporting the defense and contributing with a donation we can make sure this issue is heard in the highest court in the land.

Yes cases of child deaths aren't necessarily all cut and dry. SIDS was blamed on mothers and then it turned out that kids were just stopping breathing on their own. It can be from numerous factors like vaccinations. Her baby may have been targeted because she hadn't gotten it vaccinated- who knows?

What I heard was the baby had an issue metabolizing certain proteins. There are numerous babies that are having problems like this and Dr.s are recommending soy based baby formula and foods instead of regular dairy. There are so many factors that can be involved. I don't think they can "prove" anything. But kids die- that is a fact everywhere.I don't think we should run to prosecute the mother unless there is obvious child beating going on.

I'm no expert, but don't babies need alot of milk, fats, cholesterols, saturated fats, & protein to grow?

sorry but i have no sympathy for that shit at all.

if one of the babies died from malnutrition than they should be charged with child neglect, those bastards make me sick.

Good call Richard. Thanks. I figured it was something like that. You just have to be careful that this doesn't set some kind of precedent where the state starts biasly deciding what is and isn't healthy and then enforcing it on people who are being responsible . . .

Hi Lizz, I haven't tried yacon; I think it's still too sweet, technically. I believe stevia is truly the only natural sweetener that is not a form of sugar. When I add vanilla flavor and a little coconut oil to the stevia, it's kind of like maple...
