Give it to me Raw

Hi everyone, it's very simple: 10 reasons why I think Yoga is important. The best is that it's so simple to start, just start stretching where you can and build your elasticity withing days of practice.

Stepping onto the yoga mat can lead to extraordinary experiences, greater self-knowledge and better health. Yoga has a 5,000 year old foundation and history to back up its results.

10 reasons to Do Yoga:

* Stress Reduction- practice of yoga encourages relaxation and encourages lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Reported benefits include lower blood pressure and reduction in the symptoms of anxiety, depression, fatigue, asthma and insomnia.
* Pain relief- practicing yogic asana and meditation can ease emotional and physical pain in people with cancer, multiple sclerosis, auto-immune diseases, hypertension, arthritis and other chronic conditions.
* Better Breathing- by incorporating deeper, slower breaths, yoga can help improve lung health by increasing he oxygen available to the body.
* Flexibility-practicing yoga routinely helps improve flexibility, mobility and reduces joint aches and pains. Yoga helps improve body alignment, and may relieve back, neck, joint, and muscle problems. This will result in better posture as well.
* Increased Strength-asanas (yoga postures) work both big and small muscle groups in the body, increasing strength from head to toe. Because Yoga involves weight-bearing postures this helps build done density.
* Weight Management-yoga burns calories, aids in weight control, and promotes the creation of muscle mass.
* Improved Circulation-moving through the postures helps to flush internal organs, improve digestion and immune system function. Yoga asanas improve circulation in the body, moving oxygenated blood to the cells more efficiently.
* Cardiovascular conditioning- gentle yoga practice can lower resting heart rate, increase endurance, and improve oxygen uptake during exercise.
* Sharper mind-yoga practice prepares for focus on present moment improving concentration, coordination, reaction time and memory.
* Inner Peace-yoga helps practitioners feel more calme and centered. The sense of peace experience is what brings people back to the mat each day.

Once you get into yoga, look forward to the next evolution of yoga fun, the ultimate Omni Swing . This incredible swing allows one to practice anti-gravity yoga. It may be the best ever yoga to experience at present.

ReAwakening

Good Morning! I just thought I would post to say hello to everyone, as I am coming back after a long haul of taking care of others who were in very bad straights, which in turn put me in very bad straights too.  I am back to being me now, and pursing the life I have wanted and missed for so long.  I am growing my holistics and massage practice in Coppell, TX, healing myself, and thriving! It looks like many of the folks I knew when I first truly embraced raw veganism are not around.  I was…See More

If you can do headstand, it is easier to do the Lotus position there then sitting. 62 year old Narayani explains why and demonstrates how to do Urdhva Padmasana, Headstand in Lotus, also called inverted Lotus Position. It is a more advance Hatha Yoga Asana. You should know the basics of Yoga before trying. Even if you can't try, it is beautiful to watch. Recording in Yoga Vidya Ashram Meinberg. In the background you can see a mural of the Kundalini Shakti going through the 7 Chakras.
