Give it to me Raw

When battling addictions, usually the impulse is to not only go cold turkey and ignore process (which distances one form others, and generally gives poor results long term) but to judge others for participating in the same habits they are QUITTING, OR in NEEDING some kind of acceptance on their terms.

One can drop the bad TAKER habits.....but
what about wanting acceptance from TAKER culture? Or needing some NEW kind of acceptance.

How do people commonly get out a hole? by adopting some kind of new bottled way of thinking to "break out" of the previous habits..and all of a sudden they are the expert, they got the goods, and everyone ELSE is wrong.

Imagine what the world would be if you could liberate the energy of condemnation.

Personally I think the most absurd way of changing others is using the concept: 'slow-suicide'.

People aren't worried about their credit card debt, so they arn't worried about this I am thinkin'

If one really wanted to scare someone away from a less desirable activity...these days you have to raise the ante a bit to...like..'quick-suicide'. or explain that it really isn't working for them, may times it IS serving some kind of function or crutch.

personally I try to stay away from messing with people with issues,

or taking crutches form cripples.

Everybody happy.

I wish there was a prompt before posting that said

"am I sure of this? or is this something I read in a book or on the internet?"

even if its experiential, just because something appears to be working, doesn't mean others even from a distance can point out flaws in the design, or the infrastructure. This is NOT the same as judging/condemning, in fact, its pointing out the reverse. It also of course, doesn't mean others can't have their own experience, as if we are all in some vacuum tube with one right solution.

hey Mukti. thanks for you comment

well. what I can say is that many people do have crutches...and in the truest sense..its best if we were all able to stand strong without such things. but many times like with real injuries. people prematurely get off such things due to some ego issue or whatever.

so this for the individual is not so good, but what further complicates things is people start like..trying to make everyone else walk upright...and that ain't right! :)

your question is really difficult to answer actually. I think fundamentally there is a whole lot of issues at the core of our personalities based on how we were raised, our environment, our own choices, and even our pre-existing lives/karma if you believe in such things (I do)

Most people go about their lives attracting habits and thoughts that cause them to NOT feel, to NOT examine themselves and to make real changes. Sometimes they will institute some kind of program or plan that will immediately bring these issues to the surface. So its good to practice some kind of acceptance, but also good to preplan/coordinate where your comfort zone is at..and how / at what increment you would like to progress.

the odds are you won't clear out everything in one swoop, which is why I like the crutches example. almost EVERYBODY needs some variation somewhere in their life. So to start claiming others need to give up this or that..it really makes 0 sense, don't you think?

well, it was certainly a meant-to-be intervention of Truth to stumble upon your blog, yea! Especially the part about taking crutches from cripples! I juice fasted this last week and watched the addictions fly away, but the sadness remains which was why I ran to them to begin with. I have wondered if that is how the addiction works, to cause the melancholy in the first place?
Thanks:)
