marinate it in olive oil, lemon, salt, cumin, cayenne and cinnamon. people use nama shoyu instead of lemon and also add agave, but I dont use those ingredients. throw it in the dehydrator for a bit until warm and kinda chewy...or even dried if you like, that is tougher texture. makes a savory-sweet snack. or you can use that for a wrap filling or if you eat raw bread you can add a seed cheese sauce slice of tomato and make a yummy sammy. Matt Amsden serves a yummy one at Rawvolution.
I think you have to get the real meat of the coconut, preferably, but you can try it with dried flakes, it will just be a little more dry, so mix in some coconut water too. Let me know how it goes!! Cheers!!
hey....when it comes to "coconut meat", if a recipe calls for it, can it be dried flakes? Or....do I have to get a coconut and scrape it clean? Thanks!

Mango cheesecake! Blend the coconut meat with a juicy mango, some lime juice, honey or agave and vanilla. You can eat this as a pudding or make a cheesecake with a base of nuts and dates.
Yum!
I also love making raw pad Thai by slicing the meat into noodles.
Ice Cream! It's soo good. I add a little agave (or pure maple syrup) with bee pollen, raw cacoa nibs and ice; instead of using a banana I add the coconut meat.
You can mix fruits or add cocoa powder to change the flavor!
I can't think of any of the top of my head, but I know there are some "Asian" inspired dishes that call for coconut meat. If you're interested, comment back and I'll make a point to find them.
P.S. Yogi, When my body is in an unwanted condition like ill or overwhelmed I also ask it "What do you need to get well or fix that condition?" Watch closely for it's FIRST THOUGHT and don't invalidate it. Then do whatever you please of course-you...
hi stacey,
I was doing Hatha Yoga, that involves asanas, prayanama, bandha and mudras.
Apart from yoga we were taught Anatomy, Psychology, Philosophy etc., so that the students of this course could teach yoga and take it as a profession later.
I had a green juice (Celery, Cilantro, Parsley, Apple, Ginger, Fennel, Chard)
And a massive salad with wild caught sardine.
Coconut leek cilantro and lime soup
Might have a coconut kefir smoothie in a hour or two
