My acupuncturist told me last July that I had deficient Spleen Qi..and that I should start eating mostly cooked (GASP). She told me the opposite of what raw foodies say...that raw foods are MORE difficult for the body to digest (WTF).
I didn't listen to her, LOL.
But she may be onto something. I have eaten at least 50% raw since April of last year, and I haven't felt spectacular since October. I guess winter and half raw were not a good combo for me this first year. What's more, on an instinctive level, I FEEL deficient in a nutritional sense.
Can a poor, Spleen Qi deprived lady like myself do well on raw?
If I were to guess, I'd say that in Ayurveda I'd be a Kapha-Vata. Is this a body type that can do well on raw?
Can anyone tell me which Gabriel Cousens book goes into reconciling Ayurveda and raw?
I am open to any suggestions...cooked, raw, vegan, non...I just want to find a healthy balance!
