Give it to me Raw

http://www.thecleanse.com/KartarSinghKhalsaDOM.htm

This is a local company I just found out about. I saw their products at the healthfood store and looked on the back to see where they came from and they are in Espanola just north of here. They have beautiful packaged raw foods. The weird thing is I think I saw them- a group of them a few days ago when I also was at the health food store. They all had turbans on. I wasn't sure who or what they were then but does anyone know? Is it a Hindu custom, yoga, or Kundalini?

HI I had a wonderful time. Kundalini was easier than I thought and he did a 101 class because everyone was new. Then we had some incredible raw food. I bought some treats and was looking for them today and my boyfriend had eaten them! The web page doesn't do her food justice.

Thanks for the video Asiris! That was interesting. Thanks rawzi, Jade and Yoda too! Yeah I wasn't sure if all turbans are the same but I think the fact that they have their own raw food company puts them in a particular catagory.

I got their nutty nori chips - they have maca, brazilnuts, garlic and carrots in a dehydrated dolop on top of a square of nori. They are really good and the one I ate this morning looked like a heart..=)

Awesome! Have fun, RawTastic! : )

I happen to be writing a paper on Kundalini Yoga presently, here's some quick info if you dont mind my sharing:

"As humankind transitions from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age, there will be vast and intense changes on all levels of life. Kundalini Yoga can help during this stressful time by training us to use the meditative mind; develop wisdom, clarity and intuition; generate substantial inner energy to carry us through the challenges; and cultivating our character, commitment, and grace. With these resources, we will be able to be a “light unto the darkness” and build the foundation for the new age in a positive way.

Yoga is the union of one’s individual consciousness with the Infinite consciousness. It is a technology of awareness that explores and expands one’s depth, nature and potential as a human being.

Kundalini Yoga is a royal form of yoga, a master science of experience and consciousness that awakens one’s awareness, matures one’s mind, and harnesses the Kundalini Energy – one’s creative potential. It changes and strengthens one’s radiance to give one an expanded life and greater capacity.

Kundalini Energy is the nerve of the soul, which generally sits dormant at the base of the spine. In Kundalini Yoga, we mix the prana (life force of the atom) with the apana (eliminating force), and under that pressure, we bring the kundalini up. Once it pierces through all the chakras, one’s soul awakens and one’s creative potential expands.

Kundalini Yoga is a science that works on the total energy of a human being. On the mental level, Kundalini Yoda develops one’s neutral, intuitive, comprehensive mind. On a physical level, it strengthens and revitalizes one’s immune system, vital glands, nervous system, and entire body. On a spiritual level, Kundalini Yoga reconnects one to their original origin of Infinity.

Kundalini Yoga is one of the fastest ways to create transformation and enlightenment. It is direct, quick, and a perfect practice for the pace of a modern household. Unlike other forms of yoga, which emphasize some facet of the whole, Kundalini Yoga is the diamond itself. There is a certain depth, completeness and timelessness inherent to the very nature of this yoga, and it requires a mastery of both the inner dimensions of the Self and the outer expression in the Universe. Kundalini Yoga gives us the power and the leverage, has a legacy to it, and is part of a long lineage that is using these yogic techniques for the opening of the Aquarian Age."

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient royal art, which used to be taught only in secret to kings and passed on from one teacher to one student in a sacred, secret manner. Yogi Bhajan decided to bring it to America in 1969 and make it open to everyone, since he felt we needed it (drugged-out hippies) and since he felt we could be the "lighthouses" during the dark transitional time (right now to 2012!).

Hope you enjoy it! : )

I hope they play the big gong at the end of class like they do for me during savasana - layout - or corpse pose at the end of kundalini.

No, people wear turbans because they want to, no one appoints or gives it to them. When Yogi Bhajan came to the US in 1969, his students were primarily white, American drug-taking hippies. He wanted to show them there were other pathways to God besides doing drugs. Even though many Kundalini Yogi practitioners and American Sikhs are white, many of them were brought up in India or went to school there, etc. or not, some just stumbled upon the path.. Yes women and men both wear turbans, it's actually very comfortable.

Blessings ~

What confused me was that they were regular looking white people and I didn't think the women normally wore turbans - only men..

At what point does someone start wearing a turban? Do they have to be appointed the turban by a higher priest? Does anyone know?

By the way, Espanola is the headquarters of the Kundalini Yoga organization, 3HO (3 H's = Happy, Healthy & Holy). Im driving from LA after Raw Spirit Fest to Espanola to participate in their Summer Solstice Celebration, an amazing event. Check out 3ho.org for more info if you like. Good stuff.

I would encourage you to eat oranges instead Vampi. Whole food is always best. Oranges are a perfect food; lots of sugar, and lots of fiber to slow down the absorption into the blood stream. Take out all the fiber and you've got a blood sugar spik...
