Give it to me Raw

Hey out there !!! How does everyone out there balance their diet.??

D. Wolfe recommends 33% each of fats, greens, sweet fruits (by dry weight).

I personally think I am close to this - likely a bit low on the fats.

More like 20 40 40 ... or 30 35 35...

Curious if any of you pay attention to this... and how it makes you feel ?

I know I am extremely tired... no spring in my step.

Today I "fell off the smoothie wagon" and had some nut/seed crackers with avocado.... I felt better afterwards !!

I could be out of balance... not sure?

Thanks folks... I enjoy the feedback..... I have raised the fat level a bit... and feel better... will continue to monitor...I am more the thin type... wolfe suggest a diet consisting of more greens/fats to gain weight....perhaps this is more of what I need... (have fungal issue as well...hmmm )... very little sweet fruit, greens and fat.... recommended there as well... I guess I have my answer !!!!!!!

Hey RD,

It's possible you're "out of balance." I have found that a lot of people who are are tired and fatigued often are consuming too many nuts and/or seeds, or too many dehydrated foods.

The problem could also be coming from adrenal or even B12 levels. A methylmalonic acid test (MMA) will give you a score of your B12 levels in the blood, but if levels show up okay, then sometimes homocysteine levels are elevated, then folate concentrations should be checked, as these all influence energy levels and mental function.

Here are a few herbs and teas that I use for my clients if they are lacking energy:
Yerba Mate
Kefir (preferably raw and/or goat)
Eluethero
Royal jelly
Amino acids from a vegan or non-vegan clean protein powder, raw honey, and bee pollen
Fermented foods
Niacin (B3)

Hope that helps!

Take care,
RawMatt

Your body probably needed some fats. My advice is not to worry about specific ratios or percentages, just follow your gut (pun intended). After being a good little 100% raw fooder for 3 months, I noticed that my hair and nails were becoming brittle, my energy was down, and I started becoming obsessed with food. After adding in some cooked foods (beans, some soy, oats, brown rice) and eating however much of what I wanted, when I wanted, I felt so much better. I'm currently in the best shape of my life, so much healthier and happier than when I was 100% raw.

Hope this helps! and Good Luck!! :)

My dog likes to sleep between my legs. Warm and I rather not speculate what's going through Mr. SS McCracken's head. Then again, he likes to sniff the cat's butt after using the litterbox :hurl:

This is WONDERFUL news!!!!! Many blessings from God to you. I love yoga. It is working miracles in my physical and spiritual walk with the Lord. Someday I'd like to visit India with my mother and sister.

I love food as long as it's good. I love the fact my husband raised two turkeys for himself instead of being like his friends and buying the five dollar turkey at Walmart (yes there really is a five dollar turkey). My grandpa died at 103 and that'...
