...of hours and hours of overtime, surrounded by people eating pizza, General Tso's chicken, and sandwiches the size of your arm. I've begun to notice a subtle change in my energy level, but what's interesting is that others noticed it. They can tell I'm not as tired as them, and I'm still zipping around, after many hours of zipping have burned some of the others out.
I've slipped a little: the extra cup of coffee here or there, but when you're at the office for 12-13 hours straight, not even stopping for lunch, and then have to drive an hour+ to get home, that can happen. I don't do it much, though, and I don't seem to need it. My mother made her damn awesome vegan refried beans again, and again, I was tempted, and again, I ate them...because they're perfect. But otherwise, there's been tons of raw zucchini & red peppers, and avocados, cashews, almonds, raisins, and I wave off the candy bars that are circulating among the groups of people stuck at the office late into the night.
So, after a week of this, I still have energy. Late at night, I'm not hopelessly tired. It's Saturday, and I'm going back in to the office, and I still feel pretty good...that's all new. And the others don't feel okay, and I wonder how much of it is from their food fighting their bodies, or too much coffee or sugar stealing their nutrients...but of course, I wonder, too, if the crash is coming, and if my energy's gonna run out. So, the longer this goes on, the more raw food I'm eating, and the harder I'm trying to maintain my routines.
We'll see.
