Give it to me Raw

Saturday 9/20/08
I have been trying to start this blog since getting home from Raw Spirit, but I've been feeling so many intense feelings from the experience all I can say in this moment is the trip ain't over yet. Oh, I've been busy going through my photos and staying online posting to GITMR at a feverish pace. I've changed my profile picture 4 times. I didn't stretch out to sleep Wednesday or Thursday nights, I just dozed off with the computer going on the bed table. Friday night I finally put the computer to sleep and had a full night's deep and restful sleep. I have not even finished unpacking the car.

The weather here was chilly and overcast when I got home. It rained yesterday and finally cleared off late today. It was just perfect for staying inside and being still.

I felt myself trying to go unconscious around food and just stop eating. Knowing what that will get me has motivated me to make sure I am getting my base amount of calories. The only food I'm excited about right now are the new Keitt Mangoes that are almost ready to eat.

The "War" that is being fought on GITMR over Doug versus David at Raw Spirit was very painful to me and I had to disengage. Almost everyone wanted to be right rather than happy. I include those who stayed with it desperately trying to bring peace between the factions; bless them for trying.

To try to summarize in detail my experience of my trip to Sedona and the return trip home would stop the process right now. I can say that I'm feeling a heart opening and a grieving process for things in my past I have held onto until now when the gates burst open and those old feelings began to fall away in tears and laughter. Gotta clean house to make room for what comes next.

Kathy Zavada played at Raw Spirit, but I did not get to hear her do my favorite song of hers:

Rejoice, Dance and Sing
Celebrate Everything.
Glory Halelujah there Is None But ONE
Glory Halelujah It's Brighter Than The Sun!

Hi, all. I didn't go to the festival, but I'm hoping to butt in on the conversation, if that's okay - I like where it's headed.

Tawni, I appreciate the quote from Jesus about judgment. Another thought from Ghandi is that anytime we make someone wrong the seed of violence is planted. I don't know if raw foodism and non-violence are necessarily connected, but they seem to be much in tune.
How do we avoid making others wrong and still exercise reason? I’m taking a course on nonviolent communication which delves deeply into this topic. The fundamental assumption is that EVERYTHING anyone does or says is an attempt to meet an innate need. We may have tragic strategies for getting these needs met which actually serve to counter our efforts (violence being one of many), but they are still attempts to fulfill our needs. A child may throw a tantrum in an attempt to get her fundamental need for connection met, or to meet the need for autonomy and choice.

Nonviolence begins with releasing people from the violence of our judgment and learning to see, with empathy, the underlying need that the person is trying to fill. Compassion and empathy are born when we see the sameness of our human needs, and relate to the person’s struggle to fill them. It is our oneness that we recognize, and it plants a seed of love in place of division.

I have to jump in just to say... I truly deeply love you guys so much, Uti, Tawni, Barefoot, Eva. You see the world, you accept the illusions as such, you live to love and learn and you learn to live and love. You are the essence of raw spirit. Each day you seek to attain understanding, to rise above, and to honor thy self. Soon the leaves will be changing color and as we also keep changing, we are on the path to something so real, so true, so connected, so personal, yet so free. Thank you all for seeing the beauty in the world; for stopping to appreciate the beauty around us each day. We are so blessed to be seeing through our eyes, the eyes of spirits who soar.

Yes Uti. Very wise, you are too. I think that we all have such great lessons to teach eachother...no matter whether we're bickering or not...you know, it makes me laugh sometimes to see other people picking on eachother, but that gets us no where. Only Love n Light are goin to get us somewhere good! Straight and Narrow...we are all perfect, and doing exactly what we're supposed to be doing right now!! We have to trust that!! When we learn how to let go of the "little me" we can grow and become Me, I AM...knowing that whatever happens, we ARE and ALWAYS WILL BE and everything is okay!

2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Tawni is very wise.
I would only add the thought : all judgment comes from self-judgment - what you toss out on others is magnified 100 times within yourself (the iceberg principal)

We may not have that particular same negative thing going on inside of us, but when we sense those ugly things in others, thats the time to start sending love and understanding...yes, our ego will see something that it wants to pick on, but thats when its time to be conscious of the ego and take a step back and look at our brothers and sisters as simply that~ we are all connected, and who's to say that we are right or wrong? God only really knows this. Besides, right and wrong is only an illusion. There's really no such thing as duality. We are ONE.

Since I have been back, I too, have lost a bit the bliss high...the world I live in here is so different from the world we visited in Sedona. I have brought a chunk of it back with me though...you should have seen me around my family the day I got back. I was so happy to bring back that pure love and bliss. They have definitely seen a change in me, although some of the old me still lingers. Each day is a journey in shedding my old skins, becoming shinier and newer as each day passes.
I have been a bit sad that we as humans tend to pick out the negative in someone and blow it up like there's no negative inside of us. But, it is in all of us, whether it is obvious or not. But, we do have a choice, whether to look at that negativity and see what it is trying to teach us, or send even more negativity to it, which in turn, creates more.

We are all teachers. The negative that we see in someone is a lesson for what is going on inside of ourselves.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

I really believe that is possible to heal all of the body...regeneration of tissue is not a far fetched concept. There is a case of a man who re-grew a finger, recently! I have to dig to find the article, but I read it on naturalnews.com. Mind you...
