OK, so I've been reading the books. I'm convinced that raw makes sense. So why have I found it so hard to put into action? I've been making breakfast smoothies and huge salads at lunchtime, but then find myself slipping easily back into bad habits....when my hubbie has egg, veggie burger and beans on toast on a cold sunday morning, I can't resist. Over the Christmas and New Year period I have been eating worse than ever...all the usual festive crap.
Anyway, yesterday was the start of a new chapter. I prepared loads of yummy stuff for my new dehydrator. I accept that there is going to be a bit of trial and error as I get used to this new way of preparing food.
My first lessons?
Greaseproof paper is not a good substitute for paraflex sheets (my delicious tomato flax crackers are stuck fast to the paper and can't be saved)
One of my dogs likes tomato, flax and greaseproof paper crackers. The other one hates me for even suggesting she try them.
When your blender smells of smoke its time to buy a new blender (my feeble blender is clearly not up to the new demands I am placing on it - time to buy a vita prep?)
This morning I wake up to lots of goodies. I skip the usual smoothie and sample my new dehydrated treats...sweet potato crisps, chocolate brownies and spicy almond burgers. A strange combination, I know. I can't quite believe that chocolate cake for breakfast can be good for me. Wash down my pills with oat milk (four little thyroxine pills every day). Hmm, oat milk's not bad...wonder if it will work in my morning latte? Coffee is the one thing I'm troubled about giving up. I love my morning coffee. The rest of the day I drink rooibos tea, but morning's not the same without my latte. Maybe I could allow myself this one shot of coffee a day, but what about the milk bit? I've read enough about milk production to want to give it up, but can't find a good substitute for lattes. This morning I try it with oat milk. Not quite the same, but not bad.
Have you tried nut mylk? My preference is almond and once you get used to it it's really easy to make. And tastes great. And of course is much better for you than cow's milk! It's win win!
mind intellect thought ego am i not, neither have i ears, tongue, nor nostrils, nor eyes; i am not the five great elements; the vital-air i am not, nor have i anything to do with the physiological functions in my body; nor am i the seven-fold mate...
In NYC, petite models are pretty hard to book, because there are so few! I know one, Miss Asian America and she's constantly busy doing commercials!
Shorties are goodies lol
That is so true, its very funny and Miss J wears the most random things every week. This last season Tyra "revolutionized" the industry by putting short girls on the show LOL
Yes, your liver can regenerate and adapt. I juice feasted for 3 months to clear some health ailments that I had my entire life. Anyway, in the recommended regimen they recommend taking some fat every day like 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 1 tab...
I did it to get rid of allergies. Of course I was not raw when i did this, I did a treatment for chicken, i basically had extreme sensitivities to a bunch of different foods and was always craving chicken as a result. After I could eat it without ...
