This was just a little excessive to have int he sidebar so I decided I should move it to a blog post:
- I'm walking 5 miles 3 times a week (and I've been doing this since the beginning of Nov 2007.) I would love to be able to run/jog 5k. Running typically hurts my joints so I'm trying to learn more about it right now to see what I'm doing wrong or how to build up to it. Once I get some new running shoes I will probably try to start the couch to 5k program.
- I've been doing yoga about once a week from a podcast called yogadownload and I want to learn more and do yoga more often because I know it makes me calmer and less stressed.
- I would love to learn more about bikes because I do want to buy one and I'm conflicted about it (do I buy a super cheap one now and learn more about bikes and what I like or do I buy one in the $300 range...)
- I would love to learn more about nutrition for CRF cats since one of my cats has kidney disease (tried raw and homecooked meals for them and they turned up their noses at that so I'm thinking more along addatives for their soft organic canned food.)
- I own a cow ... a cow share actually so I get raw dairy. I know some raw foodists are completely vegan but when I tried to remove meat, dairy and eggs from my diet once and it wasn't a good thing for me. I have reduced the amount of meat I eat but I also eat a lot of eggs and raw milk products (I make my own yogurt and some of my cheeses.) Also I try to make the meat I eat higher quality when I can.
- I want to grow my own vegetable garden next summer. A few years ago when I was in an apartment I did container gardening on my small patio and produced some wonderful tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. So many cucumbers that I actually made pickles. At the beginning I heard my neighbors above and below talking about me being crazy but once the plants produced the tomatoes and such I would hear them whispering that the tomatoes and cucumbers looked delicious and they didn't know you could grow a veggie garden in an apartment... Anyway I have a yard and haven't planted veggies these last few years but I want to get into that this next summer.
- I am also interested in homemade fermented foods. Yogurt, kombuchu, saurkraut, latco fermented oatmeal. The only one I've made so far is the yogurt and oatmeal.
