Of course, I'm being facetious with that title, but there is actually a kernel of truth there. I just opened my monthly insurance statement and read the most beautiful sentence ever..."You have zero medical claims and zero prescription claims for this quarter." Less than a year ago, if I had received such a statement, I shudder to think how many claims would have been included. Due to ulcerative colitis, fibromyalgia, sinusitis, allergies, etc., I was on about 25 pills a day, plus a wicked liquid sleeping medication. All told, my "maintenance" drugs cost me about $600 a month...after insurance. That's right, after. If I had been one of the millions of uninsured Americans, my monthly bill would have been upwards of $1200 a month.
People ask me all the time, "Isn't being raw expensive with all that fresh organic food?" My answer is always that it is a hell of a lot cheaper being raw and staying away from the doctor and the pharmacy than any organic food could ever be.
I just think of all the money that could be saved if everyone went raw. Of course, all those pharmaceutical employees and insurance reps would be out of work, but somehow, I'm OK with that:)
Have a healthy and happy week, y'all!
