Give it to me Raw

Being in NYC, Brooklyn to be exact, havnt had much luck meeting health minded females. If I do its usualy somone who thinks just eating chicken and fish is enough to consitute as living healthy. Im tired of being with a female who has some kind of medical condition that I know can be reversed or alieviated by the dietary choices, but ofcourse refuses to make the connection, I dated one female who always complained of stomach pain, which uhhh comon theres no clearer connection there, stomach-food-food goes into stomach, i dunno. She would say no its stress, meanwhile she ate alot of cheese and drank alot of milk, and almost everyday complained to me about her stomach hurting.

I'm at the point where I dont want no one who isn't eatin right. I'm tired of the I can change promise, I dont want somone to change for me, I want them to do it for themselves to see it for what it is, poison! and to see cows, chicken and fish for what they are, animals! and not as food!

Anyone here in a relationship with another raw fooder, is it the best? or anyone making it work with a meat eater or a semi vegetarian, how do u do it? tips please...

Great topic. Because its not only difficult with relationship, also with people you love and they are sick. My mom for example. I wish I could reach her but I cant. And I dont want to force her because its her work she has to do. But watching and being unable to do anything is cruel.

I am single at the moment but I really dont know what to do when theres a romance/relationship comming up. With a meat eater. With a vegeterian. With a vegan. I know, it sounds not very open but I want a RAW BUDDY!

I feel your pain! I've been married for almost a year and in a relationship with the same guy for three years- he's all SAD too. Thankfully I got to him before had any medical conditions so he's anti-drug but I can't seem to get him to eat any better at all. It's not really a huge source of fighting between us because inwardly I am convinced he'll see the light someday. I'm glad personally that he's not trying to fake it though- there was a guy before him who would try to act interested and quit eating fast food and taking drugs but his whole thing was wow what a hottie if I change temporarily maybe I get to bang her. lol. So... I guess what I'm trying to say is if the connection is there, it's there and it'll work out. I'm kinda surprised that where you live you haven't found someone like-minded! I live in the nasty South and everybody's SAD, overweight and arrogant about it...

I was finaly in a relationship with a vegan.. It was great, that is a special bond. Going food shopping, going out to eat, preparing food at home, and fasting together was a lovely experience to share with someone. unfortunately it only lasted 10 months, we had other issues we couldnt get passed but so far its been the best relationship I've been in and I think the vegan connection had alot to do with it. So now my restrictions are defintly going to be imposed... NO meat eaters! lol im not even sure about vegans no more... Give it to me RAW lol

I agree, NewBeginnings. I think now that I am trying harder and harder to be healthier, more raw, and just more aware overall about the world around me, it would be hard to be with someone who was not on a similar path. But Jose, I thought you were listed as married on your page? I'm confused! :-) '08 was a hellish romantic year...maybe '09 will be better! I definitely think a raw/aspiring raw man would be great! And if we could go bump some hip hop (only the good ish), and perhaps if he would go to yoga with me at least once in awhile, oh God, I think I would just not know what to do with myself!

Hey!

I've recently become raw. I was vegan a few years ago, but I became anemic after 2 and 1/2 years. I wasn't well informed enough to know raw was a better option for iron and protein ( i was more of a pastatarian in a way, not all that many veggies...)

Not long after going back to a SAD way of life, I met the man I am with now. It's been 3 years. I have to say, changing my lifestyle, seeing how good I feel, it's very hard to see him eat food I know will make him sick. I mean, this is the man I love, want to have children and grow old with!! It scares me, what our future will be. But I love him and accept him.

It was easier in the past when I was vegan, because then it was an ideological choice, I wasn't doing it for health reasons. Now, having found raw and learning more every day about the benefits of this lifestyle, being with someone who isn't raw is definitely a challenge.

I guess my point is, if being a raw vegan is part of who you are, you should wait to find someone who is into the same thing. Or, when you meet someone new, teach them what you know about raw. Help her through the challenge of becoming raw if she was smart enough to listen to your lessons. Don't forget not many people can go raw or vegan overnight. Allow for an adjustment period, and also don't forget no one is perfect. 75% raw is better than 0!!!

Otherwise, it might lead to heartache. Believe me!! I mean, I'm not leaving this relationship but it just breaks my heart everyday to imagine the man I love getting sick because of his diet in the future. If I knew then what I know now.... you get what I mean

Good luck with all that!

And by the way, loved your rap video, it's good : )

Hard to find, usually i end up running into self proclaimed bohemians who think theyre vegetarian because they dont eat beef or pork, then cruise through Mcdonalds for a McFish, french fries and a diet soda(cuz that diet soda really levels things out right?) Its amazing how many people are unaware, misinformed or just trying to put themselves in a category. I feel ya..keep on truckin, aloha
