Incidentally, the U.N. is not recording male casualties:

The United Nations says 320 people have been killed in Gaza, including 62 women and children, and around 1,400 injured.

"[The 62 figure] does not include civilian casualties who are men, even though we know that there have been some civilian men killed as well," UN humanitarian affairs co-ordinator John Holmes said.

This probably sums up what I was trying to say in a more concise format.

Well aware of that fact, and Obama is firmly behind Israel's back.

I keep saying to you Charles, I support you and your goals. Get them started and I'll follow.
Charles Comment by Charles on January 8, 2009 at 8:18pm
The world doesn't necessarily follow, though. I don't agree with your assumption. Despite the number of truly beautiful and lovely people on this site and the emergence of this wonderful diet of living foods, I see things getting worse, not better.

We need to behave as if what happens to a child in Gaza is no different than what would happen to our own children. If my child were being harmed, I wouldn't wait for myself to "evolve. We need to do whatever it takes to stop the killing. On a more practical level, that means stop supporting politicians that provide aid to Israel. How do we stop supporting politicans? Maybe we could all refrain from paying income taxes. Think what would happen if a few million people agreed to do that? There's a nonviolent movement that could actually accomplish something.
Clement Comment by Clement on January 8, 2009 at 8:01pm
Subjectively speaking, I am the first cog in the machine that is evolution. If I do not evolve, then subjectively my world remains unchanged. I choose to start with myself, laying blame for things on no one else. I start with myself, and the world will follow.
