I know how to do it...I know I need to do it...but how do I do it?

I sit here in front of my computer just after eating a breakfast of scrambled tofu and a piece of sprouted bread and I think to myself...Hmmm, I haven't been to GI2MR lately. So, here I am. The first thing I read about is that raw glow (the one I used to have) and I think to myself how I REALLY want it back.

So, I really want it back, huh? Well, then...why don't I just go and get it. All it takes is cutting out the cooked foods and filling it in with raw fruits and veggies. Easy as that. Well...as I have found, not so easy as just that.

I started out by going 100% raw - over night! I remained that way for 2+ years. Until something really stupid happened that tore me completely off track. During those 2 years, I had that raw glow, I needed less sleep, I had so much energy, I was about 10-15lbs lighter than I am now. I felt great. I felt natural and healthy....

I miss it. I want it back. People would say that if I want it...then I should just do it. I try to just do it, I start off great. I eat my salads, I make my raw salad dressings, I load up my 9 tray dehydrator with lots of raw goodies, I get experimental and make some gormet raw stuff, I juice, I do smoothies - but then I tell myself...well, I guess I could eat a little cooked foods - and it usually starts with some quinoa, then some couscous...then i'm steaming veggies and before I know it, I am boiling the water and putting in the pasta!

Plain and Simple: I NEED A NEW PLAN.

What's stopping me from starting today? The main thought I"m having is a silly one...Thanksgiving. What will I eat when all of my friends are eating their stuffing and mashed potatoes? What will I do with that tofuturkey in my freezer? Should I wait until after Thanksgiving? ~ I know that answer - NO! I know these are excuses. I see how my brain works. It's trying to talk me out of doing something healthy and great for myself.

Where did this lack of discipline and drive come from? How come I won't do what's best for me and my body - as well as the environment?

Again, what I need is a New Plan....take it one day at a time....

A shout out to all Raw Foodies - please send your energy my way today. Any ideas for a new plan? I just need a little shove, share an experience, share some love and wisdom with me today <3 <3

Thanks Everyone!!

You all helped me out by giving great advice and all from a different perspective, which was what I was hoping for. As I was reading over your responses, a thought came to me. I always have been an all or nothing type of girl - it's just what has worked best for me...in the past. So, maybe it's time I try something new for awhile. I am going to transition slowly by cutting out certain things every week or two and by the time I get to those last few cooked things (down the road a ways)- some steamed veggies and maybe some quinoa - and I am feeling great and balanced :) then maybe i'll just leave them in my diet.

What I need to do seems very clear to me today. So, thanks again for your support and advice. I appreciate you all taking the time to help me!

it helped me a lot to find a buddy to go raw with. start with an attainable goal....like 3 days...then a week, a month, so on.
whenever we had moments of weakness we would text or call eachother and it helped so much!
stocking up on some raw "splurge" alternatives helped me too (think raw chocolate, raw cookies, raw trail mix). i would try to keep a couple of grabable things like this in the cabinets instead of potato chips and stuff like that.
find what truly motivates you and really focus on it! :]

I say dont stress over it, start eating raw today and when thanksgiving comes eat your tofurky. The weird thing is how many people are so all or nothing about everything in their lives, a bit extreme dont you think. Besides there really are not that many people that are completely 100% raw anyway, no matter what they would like you to believe. Even Jameth Sheridan thinks that eating 80% Raw is a more realistic approach to overall health. So what you eat cooked food for the holidays, it seems like it is these social occassions that alienate us from the rest of our family and friends. What ever happened to Moderation? I feel great eating raw, but im sure everyone at some point comes to the conclusion where they have to decide between Fruit or Fat that eventually ends up being the question. One or the other is the bulk of the raw food diet, and the balance for me between those two are quinoa and millet. Because to be honest there are only so many hybrid bananas i can eat in a day. I think the key in life is balance, and i hope you find yours.....Dont put all your eggs in one basket! LOL

Interesting. :) Youre welcome. I forgot to mention you want to feel the congruency down as low as possible, in your lower back, or navel, or if even 1 feet below the earth, like youre ready to just get up & do it now. Setting a 'toward goal' like this, not just visualised but also emotionalised through the breath, should keep you motivated for some time when you think about all the great reasons why having the raw glow is just for you, now, being more consciously capable, developing your intuition etc etc. Whatever you value in life. I also forgot to talk about the difference between sending out 'wanting' energy, and 'having' energy. If you send out 'i want the raw glow' you will get more 'want' for the raw glow until youve had enough wanting & will just 'go for it'. Doing the process like this 'as if you have it now' sends out the right kind of expectation & emotion to you which will always be there as a constant reminder to your unconscious mind that youre doing your best to create yourself in the highest state in every moment. :)

The thanksgiving thing, as well as my best bud's birthday, was keeping me from doing my 30 day raw challenge this month, also. But you know what? there will always be "Something" you might miss out on every single day, week, and month of the year! Best to learn to deal with it right away than prolonging the inevitable I suppose! good luck to you.

So we are motivated either 'toward' something great, or 'away from' something negative. In evolving to a higher consciousness i think we tend to lose our 'away froms' and are mostly motivated by something positive like going for that raw glow again. So i dont know how you are with setting goals, but in order to really acheive it this time, you might need to make it specific, measureable, acheiveable, results focused, and timed,(smart goals). Make a picture of the 'last step' - how do you know when you have what you want? Make a picture of you with the raw glow, make it a large picture, like the size of a drive in movie screen, brighten it up, put it in lumnicolor, add in some loud sounds, do whatever you need to do to the properties of the picture to start drooling over the idea of having that raw glow. Then make sure you can see your body in the picture. Take the picture out into an imagined future, to a place where this goal is most acheiveable, & then breath into the picture with 4 deep breaths with a slow release. 4 seconds in 8 seconds out with 'ha'. As if youre energising the picture. And the drop it into the time-line and as you do, notice the level of certanty you have about acheiving this. Notice your level of congruency about this. You want nothing less than 100%. If you notice you have obstacles, let them come to mind, and ask your inner guidance what do you need to know that will solve this obstacle, that if you became conscious of now, you will have 100% congruency that this is what you want. Great.. So looking back to the past now, while youre above your timeline, notice that all the events up until that event re-evaluate themselves to allow the unfoldment of this event, allow hundreds of pictures to fill up your timeline as well as the conscious learnings of whatever obstacles you will face, so that you can get glimpses of the kind of action youre going to take. Do this process in a semi meditation & you will have placed in your order for the universe.
