I love Rainbeau Mars, she's raw. (her mum is a raw food author - brigitte Mars.) She's got 2 one hour workouts on youtube, this is the hip opener one, it's in 8 parts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ZPFE1Vy7s
The other one is for core strength, just search Rainbeau Mars Adidas yoga.
I've been doing them for a couple of months with very good results. I just bought her dvd Yoga for beauty, and it is also excellent, with one 45 min routine for the morning and another one for the night, and 2 10 minute ones as well.
I have done bikrams, ashtanga, hatha, so much yoga over the last 10 years, always starting then giving up. I feel very comfortable following Rainbeau's routines. Between the dvds and the youtube vids there is a lot to keep me interested and challenged.

David Swenson is a very popular visiting teacher here in Austin.
I'm a beginner, and a book that keeps me interested is "Ashtanga Yoga" by Davis Swenson.
I agree on the library, it's a great knowledge base. You can even request the book that you're looking for, and if it receives a few other requests the library may buy a copy!

also, your library could get you vids from libraries across the country. check with me on teachers' names if you like, yogiB ;))))
Thanks! I would much rather go to a class but I teach so many fitness classes that I can very rarely make it to the yoga classes. I'll check out the library though :)
