Got Kids? Want to feed them veggie? In Florida that makes you criminal, find out what you can do about it!

An innocent Florida family has been convicted of child neglect and sentenced to 15 years probation for feeding their kids a raw, vegan diet. Their case is on appeal to the US Supreme Court and we can help them set the record straight and set a new standard for the health of our children in the future.
The courts themselves are on record as being in conflict with each other in this case. The criminal court ruled for 15 years probation for feeding the children a raw vegan diet while at the same time the family court ordered the children be placed on a raw food diet with soy. In the family court all the radiological reports and blood tests performed by the State of Florida on behalf of the prosecutor came back normal. The judge even said, “The state didn’t prove their case against the Andressohn’s” and that’s why he placed the children on a raw food diet with soy.
We have a chance to support the Andressohn’s as they take this case to the Supreme Court and set a precedent for parent’s rights to choose their child’s diet but we must act swiftly as time is running out for them.
Please send $50, $100 or what ever you can afford to the lawyer so that she will take the case in time to make the appeal in early October. If you can help fund their defense (and yours) mail a check to:

Marcia J. Silvers P.A.
2937 S.W. 27th Ave Suite 101
Miami, Florida, 33133

The Andressohn’s have till October 15th to make a motion to the Supreme Court and need to raise $14,500 for attorney fees immediately. Please be generous with your gifts. Thank you very much for your support.
Call Lamoy and she will thank you personally at 786-447-1875.

Pot luck this Sunday 9-20-09 6pm at Lamoy's house to raise money for the case. Call Lamoy for directions.
Thanks

more googling shows that some claim the child died of birth defects, and not malnutrition. photos show the kids to be of healthy weight.

and for the record, there have been charges of child abuse/neglect on parents of obese kids who got that way from eating SAD with lots of junk food.

ok..so a quick google search revealed these parents were charged for neglect when one of their babies died of malnutrition back in 2005. i don't know the outcome since i didn't read the article. Just saying. this post doesn't have all the facts.

since they're asking for donations, it's obvious why the fact that one of their kid's died of malnutrition is omitted from the posting. this isn't the courts picking on raw vegans, it's the courts making sure none of their other kids--from this one particular family--die of malnutrition.

ok...but why was this in the court in the first place? what was the charge? the circumstances? the story?

wow, this sucks. no one even blinks at the thousands of kids who daily eat hot dogs, potato chips, candy and snacks, but you try giving your child healthy and natural food and it's a big to-do. i feel sorry for the SAD kids-i basically grew up that way and it took a long time to figure out what was good, bad and basically why i have always been tired. i feel like that is the neglect, now that we know so much more about processed foods. how can you let your child eat that way? nothing infuriates me more than an obese child, it's not their fault. how are they supposed to know how to eat?

BTW, I do hope they win. If they don't, it proves that Florida is a socialist state that doesn't respect the rights of parents to decide what is right for their children. If it is decided against them in the supreme court, it would say the same about this country. In that case, your only hope really if you want freedom without a constant fight is to go to parts of the country where that kind of BS isn't enforced.

BTW, how did this ever get started?

Moral of the story? Move out of Florida. I did. They denied me health insurance on the sole ground that I was under average weight. Not that any scientific study has linked being underweight to any kind of risk factor but if you aren't fat like us, you must be unhealthy.

No, actually I like Florida, just not to live. Don't expect an unconscious society to respect consciousness. They won't.
