Give it to me Raw

Hi,

Its been a while since my last post and lots have happened. At the beginning of August I completed a week long fast. It consisted of Coconut water, Watermelon juice, Green juice and Lots and lots of water. I did not have any particular change or detox symptoms. But I had an incredible experience separating and understanding hunger. The weeks after the fast I have noticed I feel more satisfied with less substantial meals. Keeping it simple is so true. Whatever is in the house is what I gravitate towards instead of take-out or going to restaurants. But this post is about running.

First let me say no I am not 100% raw. I try to be conscious of food combining , choosing organic over conventional, staying hydrated and incorporating exercise. That is all I commit to at this point in time. If I am 100% one day and not the next meal or next day I make it a priority to make sure even a questionable meal is combined correctly.

I started Running...or a Run/Walk program. The eventual end of 6 weeks prepares you for 30mins of all running. I don't know about other people but I have always struggled with running. THE MILE RUN in school was the single worst experience in my life. Heart beating out of my chest, panting, the feeling of worthlessness particular Gym Teachers seem to dish out with sharp downward stares. The whole event encompasses my life struggle with weight, fitness, self esteem you name it. Dramatic I know but sooooo true for me. But I did it. I kicked that little 12 year old girls ass today. I encouraged myself and got up early on Sundays and ran outside, I used the basement gym at my job, I ran around the perimeter of my old high school (painfully reminded of my gym class horrors LOL.) All of it in the steamy humidity and heat of Washington, DC. I quit my soul sucking job last week in order to fulfill my career goal of making a film and this week I met my goal of getting into the habit of running..not walk run walk run but RUN RUN RUN RUN!

Feels so good to set goals and meet them may not sound big but I FEEL GOOD!

Yes! It's awsome isn't it? I sooo know how it feels to be that little girl who couldn't run the mile. I remember my gym teacher telling me that she'd give me a C if I didn't complete the mile without walking. That such an inspiration me!

I recently started running too. It feels great. I'm sort of addicted now too. I keep looking forward to my next run, not to mention my cardiovascular system is even BETTER than it was on a high-raw diet alone! I was seeing my neurologist yesterday and his nurse remarked on how GREAT my blood pressure was!! In fact I think he said it was amazing.

Thanks for sharing your methods of opening these delicious, nutritious wonders. :-) This was an abnormally large organic pomegranate, but organic it was.

Well we are not early man. Sitting on the computer typeing isn't natural. Not sure what being natural has to do with working out. Jumping rope at a moderate pace seems okay for someone out of shape or for a warm up. If you want it to be an effect...

Check out Dr. Bass' books for a much more concise understanding of his research and findings. I bought his books immediately after watching these videos, and have been reading through them since. :-) Great info, thanks for posting! http://www.drba...

I find it's quicker to make four cuts, scaling the outer skin equally then pulling it away and thumping with a wooden spoon. Plus it's less of a mess and you don't lose any juice because none of the kernels are cut :) There are different varietie...
