Give it to me Raw

Jef

Intending to do a juice feast anyone want to ride along?

I don't know when I'm starting, but hopefully sometime before the 6 canteloupe in the fridge become mush, and the celery starts to turn yellow, and the garden produce freezes. Maybe sometime like Thursday.
So lets get going. I even ordered some green powders and stuff to detox while I do it., like zeolite, and such., so now I've got to do it.

Is it possible to juice feast, and still feed 3 hungry kids who eat semi standard american at times but really enjoy steamed brocolli, roasted okra, and hummus sandwhiches?

I gotta get some sleep if I'm gonna do this, so good night.
Let me know if you want to FEAST along..........a gallon a day, they say. THats a lot of juicer cleaning going on!

Ok, I drank half a gallon on Friday, with some food, then got a headache,.........yesterday (Sat) I didn't have any food, except spirulina and green juice with apple. I felt really sick and the headache was all day. I still have it. I tried the remedies for that kind of thing, and felt a little better after, but its still here.
Any ideas?? Its starting to drive me crazy. I should try EFT on it maybe.
Anyone else decide to juice for sure?

I'm feeling really crappy today....part of the Sad diet I've been dabbling in cramps...so I'm not starting today, probably, and I want to feel more sure, so maybe Tomorrow or Sunday. thansk

1. yay or ney for starting on the same day - Doesn't matter to me, I'm thrilled that other people are starting roughly on the same day. Am flexible w. dates if others wish to start en troupe, Fri/Sat/Sun would all be good.

2. yay or ney for having a central update location other than this - Yay!

Juice feasting is having a gallon or more of juice per day, basically getting all the calories you need. In a juice fast, (and I always use only green juices with a little apple), its about half that, 16 ounces 4 times a day, so there are fewer calories, and your digestion/colon goes on vacation and stops moving stuff. I want to do the juice FEAST as in www.juicefeasting.com

I agree the word fast scares people. I like to fast every once in a while, but its harder, and I need to take care of my kids at the same time....also longer, and I can't take a 3 month vacation.

just feasting means your having an abundance of delicious juices. I think the word fast scares people. :D

And I'm transitioning today from my water fast ( had some juice with fresh picked apple cucumber raspberries with some homegrown aloe blended in.. I was planning on keeping its simpler but I forgot that all my raspberry bushes were ready (a little late even!) probably one of my favorite fruits.

Stopping by the farmers market tomorrow morning and I'll pick up what ever is in season, lots of kale I hope to find. Craving to make kale chips.

That's great you guys! Congrats on going for it! The last time I did one I added a little powdered goji, maca, and cacao to mix things up a bit. Also the maca is an adrenal adaptogen. A little powdered stuff is ok per Gabriel Cousins. I did it for a week. It is always great to do. I think if you are going to be around others that you should get a baby sitter for day 3 and maybe a few other days to take the stress off a little. Get \ ask for as much support as possible to make it as easy as possible.

I'm confused here. is a juice feast a juice fast or does it just mean you're juicing in addition to solid foods?

Karen, feel free to start any day, if you want to join. I may not be quite ready tomorrow anyway. I need to get my kitchen cleaned up and make sure its sustainable....Even if some start tomorrow, or some the next day, its really not a big deal.

or, do you all want to start on the same day? Say Yay or Ney
also, would any of you like to have a group or just a discussion specifically for our juice feast? I could set up a group for updates and stuff.
what do you think?

1. yay or ney for starting on the same day

2. yay or ney for having a central update location other than this

I just planted more greens in my garden, so hoping to carry me through to the end, maybe. 2 pounds per day of greens they say.

Aspen, A juice feast can be as long as you want it to be. I am going for 92 days, or if something happens and it seems I shouldn't go that long, shorter. (not for cravings, but maybe if something in my health feels off).
there is a website called Juicefeasting.com that has directions from David Rainoshek, who is an "expert" about it.
Also, I have a book by Angela Stokes called A Juice Feasters Handbook

I'm thinking of selling it, though, since I've read it through, so let me know if you want it. I'd sell it for $15paypal including postage. You can buy them new for about $20 I think.

Lets keep chatting. I think it would be easier in a discussion forum, so maybe I will start a group just for this.

Blessings!!

they gossip about which teams are going to trade or sign star players. Most of it is bullshit. They just create rumors to sell papers / get hits. Still I eat it up.

Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found. I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen. Healing with whole foods is a great start..
