Give it to me Raw

* I'M NEW * I'M NEW * I'M NEW * I'M NEW * .......and I have questions!

This juicer thing: I am looking to invest in a new one. I'm pretty set on Green Star, as it juices everything, and their reputation and quality appear hard to beat.

My question goes out to all you gear heads/juice fantastics out there...

Correct me if I'm wrong: All of the Green Star juicers - the 1000, the 2000, the 3000 - all are the same machine. The only difference being the attachments for bread/pasta/toaster-cozy making.... ok, not so much on the toaster-cozy making.

I think I'll just get the 1000 and save a few. Thoughts? I thank you in advance for playing....

love and light.... Miss Tonin

I was thinking of sticking with my Jack Lalanne for now, and adding a hand crank greens juicer, like the healthy juicer (http://www.healthyjuicer.com) for only about $50. Of course... if I run across an amazing deal on craigslist, I'll snatch up an Omega, Champion, GreenStar, but until then, this might work out :)

The Omega juicers have that design similar to what RawTastic mentioned: the parts are all on the outside. It's great for wheatgrass, too, which saves money on having to buy another juicer for that. And it expels all the pulp very simply which makes composting even easier than it already is.

I have tasted juices from the Green Star and it was amazing. I'm also looking for a good deal for this juicer on craigslist. I have a vitamix and it's great. But I want to juice wheatgrass, etc.

I don't have a green star but I have used one and they do work much better than my champion.

I really have no experience with juicers other than my centrifuge style cheapo that can't do my leafy greens properly - you really get what you pay for when it comes to quality machines! I'm trying to be patient and hold out for a deal (like on craigslist or garage sale or trade) but I really want to be able to juice my greens... NOW... my Vitamix has been great for smoothies (spinach, pear, romaine) but I'm craving kale and parsley can't wait to drink - not chew - my juice! Thanks All for your feedback

Never heard of it but would love to.. we have a champion juicer.. would like to get a Green Star but still not sold.
Right now we blend our leafy greens in the vitamix and then run them through the Champion. Works great. just a little more work. We bought our Champion on craigslist for $50 bucks.

I heard Hippocrates sells a juicer that doesn't even need cleaning that it has parts on the outside. I was wondering if anyone had tried it or heard reviews on it..

:-)

I LOVE my Omega 8003. Very low RPM, truly masticcates the food rather than the centrifuge style. SUPER easy to clean, and also great for wheatgrass and lots of other stuff.

I am not familiar with the Green Star juicers, sorry! I am by no means trying to change your mind, as it sounds like you have done your research. I know the Omega 8003 and 8005 models are virtually the same except for the exterior esthetics (The 8005 - about $50 more - is metallic rather than the traditional plastic).

Good luck!

...just gotta say, that I'm happy with my "typo" - it was supposed to have been "FANATICS" but I wrote "FANTASTICS" instead...

You wanna both snowboard and ski? You usually have to stick to one if you want to master it. Not saying you can't do both, but maybe wait until you got the hang of it before switching up.

My dog likes to sleep between my legs. Warm and I rather not speculate what's going through Mr. SS McCracken's head. Then again, he likes to sniff the cat's butt after using the litterbox :hurl:

This is WONDERFUL news!!!!! Many blessings from God to you. I love yoga. It is working miracles in my physical and spiritual walk with the Lord. Someday I'd like to visit India with my mother and sister.

One of my coworkers left a Little Debbie zebra cake for me for my b-day. I ate half and gave the other half to my husband. Sometimes I'm able to resist and some days (like now when Aunt Flo arrives) I nibble. The other day my husband made stovetop...

I love food as long as it's good. I love the fact my husband raised two turkeys for himself instead of being like his friends and buying the five dollar turkey at Walmart (yes there really is a five dollar turkey). My grandpa died at 103 and that'...
