Spring is coming to a close now, the Big Leaf Maple Tree is wearing its full cloak of photon snagging green sugar factories and the grasses in the surrounding meadow are turning to California gold a little early because of the drier winter we experienced.
Although Summer is…

I love this time of the year when the energy begins to flow after the quiet of winter. I had a double treat yesterday on the road to and from my cabin: in the morning the light was playing on my favorite maple tree and I stopped to play with my camera. The old tree has…

Fall is the season of death. All the busy-ness and growth of summer is slowing down. The garden is withering after harvest and the summer plants are dying. Such is the cycle of Life.
In my unconsciousness, when my ego mind is empowered, I fear death. I cling tightly to my illusions and try to keep my box tidy and within my known. I cling tightly to my memories and use them as building blocks of fantasies to project a future that never becomes a reality. My mind will go to almost any length to a…

I have been trying to start this blog since getting home from Raw Spirit, but I've been feeling so many intense feelings from the experience all I can say in this moment is the trip ain't over yet. I love mid-summer here. The days are warm and sunny, but not too hot and the nights are still cool. Everything is growing and producing. I'm getting surplus veggies from my former roomie who has done a great job with the garden beds I left behind. She went wild with heirloom tomatoes and I call her gardens Tomato National Forest. Her first ripe ones are just coming this week and they are YUMMMMMM! I had some of the first picking last night in a big salsa salad. The local peaches from the farm wh…

Wow! Is it summer already?
Somewhere between spring and summer my healing retreat ended softly and gently and I shifted my increasing energies and strength towards "doing the life". I've returned to earning my living and find myself with an abundance of work, even after raising my labor rates. I moved in early June from the farm alongside the river to an unfinished cabin on a ridgetop overlooking the wilderness of California's Lost Coast. The cabin belongs to one of my clients and I'm looking f…

How apt the title of this blog is for me personally. As some of you may know, Winter gave me a pretty good kick on its way out and I became ill with severe flu-like symptoms and high fevers. I water fasted for 10 or so days not entirely by choice. It's hard to remember details of time for this period. I spent most of my time in bed just focusing on the peach trees in bloom outside my window by day the grain of the wood on my closet doors when it was dark outdoors and feeling grate…
