This was dinner from last night - greens, avo, tomato, bean sprouts, walnuts, hemp seeds. SO freaking good. Unfortunately, I'm not the best photographer.
I will try to post on a semi-regular basis what I'm eating. Today was green smoothie for breakfast with mixed gre

I've been thinking about just how much I've changed in the last couple of months. About two months ago, I was eating some meat, lots of dairy, very few greens and fruit, and tons of processed crappy food. I had heard of the raw food diet, but thought it was some crazy veg

Ok, I'm going to attempt to post a couple of pictures for the first time.
First, my green smoothie from a couple of days ago - the big glass is mine, and my mini-me has the smaller one. :) I am so psyched that she likes smoothies!! (sorry - the pic is blurry)

Ughhhh, I am really PMSing today. All I have wanted to do is EAT all freaking day. This is the first day since going raw (not 100%) when I've been really tempted to go back to my old habits - as in, peanut butter M&M's and crappy processed food. I had a pretty ugly binge late this afternoon. I'm disappointed in myself, but I refuse to beat myself up. I'm enjoying a nice banana-strawberry-greens smoothie now. The only good thing about the binge is that I remembered how awful it feels to ea
… ContinueWell, the day didn't start off great - a coworker brought in munchkins. I'm not a donut fan, but I did have a few (mostly for socialization purposes). Then for lunch I had a big salad with lettuce, spinach, cukes, green peppers, chick peas, walnuts, and carrots.
I splurged and bought the chocolate mint 90% raw bar (I think from larabar?) - that was a nice treat. Dinner was ezekiel bread with tomato and avacodo, and a lovely green smoothie made with kale, frozen bananas, pineapple, kiwi

Ok, being raw is really freaking difficult. I have been craving cooked food like mad lately - and not necessarily the healthier versions. I know it's a transition - and a process - but still . . .
Today was better, though. Breakfast was 2 bananas (fruit is so easy!), lunch was a boring salad with lettuce, sprouts, and carrots. I really need to get more variety in my diet. Afternoon snack was carrots dipped in hummus (not raw). Dinner was ezekiel bread lightly toasted with coconut o
… ContinueI just made myself a smoothie for dinner - 2 handfuls of spinach, frozen strawberries, a banana, and water. It is very tasty, but really UGLY. LOL It's a horrible brownish color. Apparently, this is a bad combo if you're looking for that lovely green hue. Oh well, it's what in it that counts, not how it looks.
As for the rest of the day, it wasn't too bad - I had a yucky tropicana fruit "smoothie" for bfast (It claimed to have lots of vitamin c, and I'm sick - and was late for work
… ContinueThe good news: opening day was completely fabulous!! Hubby and I had an amazing time, and I'm so glad we went (it was my Christmas present). Unfortunately, I am getting sick (mostly sore throat and tired), and I woke up yesterday morning feeling like crap. Therefore, I skipped breakfast altogether (was planning on lovely green smoothie with spinach, strawberries, etc.) because I felt like I was going to puke (sorry - but it's true). I ate nothing until we got to the ballpark around lunchtime.

So I've decided that it's very hard being the only raw person in my family. After my 7 day detox, I was hoping to be as raw as possible - I didn't want to immediately go back to SAD, that's for sure! I suppose I haven't done too badly, but it can be really hard at times. I'm an ice cream freak, so I want to learn to make raw ice cream. Right now I'm eating vegan ice cream, which is at least better than my old dairy friend.
I am going to attempt to log what I eat on a daily basis to kee

Well, I finally decided to start documenting my raw journey - mostly to keep me motivated. I have been partially raw for the past few weeks, but I was 100% (well, 99.5%) raw for 7 days straight - through the 7 day detox program by the Raw Divas (therawdivas.com) Day 1 was a water fast. It was very strange - I thought I would be starving the whole day, but work kept me busy and distracted. I was very happy and proud to get through that day.
The rest of the week was just fruits and v
