Kefir grains for sale

Hey everyone, I recently purchased some kefir grains from e-bay only to realize, too late, that they were grains for dairy, not water, cultures. I figured instead of wasting perfectly good kefir grains, I may as well re-sell them to someone who can use them. Do any of you raw veggies want to start experimenting with kefir? I bought the grains for $10 so that's the price I'll be reselling them at. I'm willing to mail them anywhere in North America. Any takers?? They look like this… Continue

oi vay...

lately, i just feel so... oi. i've become very 'disillusioned' with the raw 'movement' lately. there's far too much bickering going on for my liking. bickering, name-dropping, guru-hopping, and dogma-pumping. i eat plants. mostly fruit and greens. sometimes seeds. i love fatty fruit, and i also loved steamed vegetables. i have a thing for sun-dried figs, but i'd take a green juice over them any day of the week. what does that make me? i feel at home with the 811 crew, with their love of fruit an… Continue

flog (aka food blog)

today's eats were 2 red grapefruit smoothie of 1 lb of strawberries, 1 mango, 1 orange (such a delicious combo) smoothie of 4 bananas (2 frozen), 4 stalks of celery i had intended to have some kiwis too, but it's the end of the day and i'm not hungry at all. in fact, i could go to sleep right now at, uh, 8:45. i slept 12 hours last night, too. since the semester has ended, i've been sleeping like a rock every night. i've even started dreaming again. (for me, the school year = major sleep distur… Continue

today's fruity eats- day 2

i'm doing a week of all fresh fruits and veggies (nothing dehydrated, sun-dried), no overt fats, salt, seaweed or herbs as a kind of spring cleanse. i figured i'd record it here because, well, i like reading what other people eat. i'm probably not alone in this. so, for all of you dietary voyeurs, enjoy! 2 red grapefruits ice cream of 2 frozen bananas, 1/2 cup strawberries 3 carrots 1 dragon fruit smoothie of 3 bananas, 1 kiwi, juice of 1 lemon, 4 large stalks of celery 3 bananas,1 kiwi the ki… Continue

happy happy colon

so i just had my first colonic. it was an ok experience. not at all painful or uncomfortable, but certainly not life-altering either. the woman who did it is very big on blood type diets, though she was pretty interested in my raw diet. she told me that for the next 24 hours, i should be eating cooked vegetables- no raw fruits and veggies. i'm not so sure about this.... her nutritional advice, in general was not what i'd normally want to follow- a protein shake, rice crackers and nut butter for… Continue

i'd rather be...

fat and happy than skinny and miserable. well... kind of. let me start off by saying that, all throughout high school and part of university, i was plagued by eating disorders. i was terrified of food, counted each and every calorie that went into my mouth... i could have (and probably still can... thank you awesome memory) told you the calorie/fat content of anything on the market. i was loading myself with processed sugar/ refined flour/ soy all in an effort to stay ridiculously small. learnin… Continue

neither wins because the world isn't fair- and we are constantly having to deal with it. the more conscious you are the more you see how unethical people rule the world and you can't wish them away by feeding your happiness with cacao. it's a fun ...

That is a good point Angus. I have found that a lot of fundamentalist religions accuse everyone else of worshiping the devil and it like a blind hysteria- like all these other people have a black bible in their house and secretely worship a statue...

Yeah really that was just my negative response to Arnold Ehret's book from an emotional standpoint. I just found it lacking in completion. There's good logic in it though. First there'sDr . J. Tilden's book on the cause of disease. Toxemia Explai...
