14: I Guess They're Numbered Now

Was inspired by another on this list to start numbering them for some reason - don't remember who, sorry! Just ate an apple - only raw food of the day - no wait! Had caesar salad for dinner, so I s'pose that romaine was at least raw, even if the dressing and croutons weren't. No way - was trying to remember what I had to eat today and I think I'm coming up with big, cooked waffle breakfast, chai, and big, cooked gnocchi and salad and cheesecake for dinner - whoa. No wonder why I was starving an… Continue

Having a Difficult Time with Transition

I can't find my inspiration. Can't seem to stay on track with anything - painting the house, homework, the girls, laundry, making food. It's like every moment I have to breathe I just want to sit down and veg. I suppose, in a sense, I'm laughing at myself because I know how that works - you start to eat better first, then you have energy for all these things. It's like I'm waiting to have the energy first and THEN eat well. Weird me. I'm excited to start doing bodywork again. Just a couple of s… Continue

Been A While...

Yes, yes. Back to that "Tired of Being Sick and Tired" thing. Currently, health is in sad state. Consuming loads of nasty stuff which I aim to again begin to improve in the morning. Loads of caffeine, loads of sugar, loads of bread/carbs/wheat (whatever ya want to call it, it's NASTY!!), and loads of veggie burgers from a fast food place. Finally immune system has had it and I'm sick. You know, I don't think it's a good thing that I get sick so infrequently. Definitely a sign that my immune sy… Continue

It's Been a Real Couple 'a Weeks...

So, didn't make it 30 days, but that's alright. We're leaving for the Raw Spirit Fest tomorrow night - I am sooo excited and am looking forward to connecting and getting inspired again. I'm hoping there will be lots of raw snackies/samples available, and I want to try and find Angela Stokes' book, "Raw Emotions". All for now... Continue

30+ days raw starts tomorrow

looking soooo forward to it! celebrated my birthday today with a gigantic, super-sugary, cooked cake - could barely finish one piece!! so abnormal for me, as I can usually down 1/2 the thing no problem - guess i'll take that as a good sign. all for now. :) Continue

Coming Soon...

I am sooo looking forward to my birthday this Saturday! Well, I always look forward to my birthday. Is that just so Leo-like of me, or what?! For my birthday present, I asked my hubby to take us all to the Raw Spirit Fest in Sedona in September. He bought tix the other day and we're going to make lots of yummy raw goodies to take on our little road trip. Yah hooooooooo!!! Starting the day after my birthday (and the day after a crazy, cooked birthday cake, I suppose), we're going to eat 100% raw… Continue

Oh Dear, Oh Dear

Well, the last two days haven't been as raw as we've liked, but (as those of you with kids will understand), it's super tricky to eat all raw with non-raw snackies for the kids in the house, and especially when one of the kids goes around knocking her teeth loose! Plus, sleep for the last two nights has been almost non-existant for this mommy - I swear the girls are plotting to drive me nuts - already, it begins. ;) Today, for me though, was certainly better than yesterday. I wasn't too happy w… Continue

Days 6 and 7

Wee haaaawwww! Sailing through the last day of our feast, and we're feeling pretty good. I did some ear candling this afternoon, and my head feels open and relaxed. Aaaahhhhh... I think for next time, definitely have more of a schedule as far as when to make juice, and drink lots more of it! I think we may have been borderline fast for this run. But it was a good experience for Phil, I think, and just nice for me to get into cleansing mode again. Yay. We're planning to eat soaked prunes in the… Continue

Day 5

Wow, today I had so much energy - still, at a quarter till 10pm, I feel like I can say up for another couple of hours, easy. However, since we have to be up early tomorrow (Saturday), then I'll retire at a reasonable time. I didn't have any bowel movements today, though yesterday there was lots to come out. Interesting. Only two more days! Yippeee! Already I am feeling more energetic, my skin is softer, my tummy is lighter, I'm less gassy and bloated, my eyes are clearer, my nose and sinuses ar… Continue

Days 2, 3, and 4

Boy, this has been fun so far. It's definitely challenging to make this much juice with two little ones around - even with our nanny helping out!! I'm not going to go through the list of what all we're drinking, but I will note that today in particular, I have not had nearly enough calories nor greens - felt really, really light headed and shaky after a bath this afternoon, after only having a qt of oj and 1 small glass of a concoction my hubby whipped up last night. As for the girls, I'm nursi… Continue

Day 1

We knew today was going to be challenging, as we didn't have time to go produce shopping the day before. Not too bad, I must admit. We started with a visit to Jamba Juice to get us each a quart of oj. Fortunately, it was fairly good tasting, as you never know what kinda oranges they have for the day - sometimes totally bitter, sometimes old tasting. Then went our visit to Whole Foods, where we bought loads of produce and made a visit to their juice bar. I guess they have this rule about no longe… Continue

Sunday - Tomorrow is Day 1

I think another reason why we are only planning a 1-week feast at this time is due to the fact that we haven't been eating raw lately. We definitely understand the ramifications of jumping head-first into a long detox-causing diet after not being so - craziness. We are both excited to get started with this - Phil, because he's never done anything like it, and myself, because it is so needed and I have someone who is going to do it with me (and is excited about it as well - makes all the differen… Continue

Quickie...

Getting back on the horse after having baby #2, Amelia Sage. My husband and I are planning on doing a juice feast this week to help inspire ourselves to eat healthier (95-99%, or so, raw) post-feast. As I am breastfeeding, I only want to do a short feast/cleanse so as to not send too many (if any) toxins to the babes and also baby #2 seems to be very, very sensitive to what I am eating - must change that! Good luck to us! I'll post each day (hopefully) as we progress through it, and beyond. Here… Continue
