My birthday is coming soon and here are my plans for the day. Enjoy!
I want to dodge what I don't want coming at me.

I want to keep cool.

I can have some fun.

To make Seed Yogurt I use two and a half cups of Seeds. All Sunflower
or half Sunflower and half White Sesame. I use two quart-size mason jars. 1
and 1/4 cups of seeds in each one. Add filtered water and submerge seeds. Age
for 36 hours. Rinse at least once in between. Pour into a strainer,
rinse very well. Rinse out jar. Put back in jar. Use a funnel if
needed.
I begin in the evening. On the second morning, 36 hours later, after
rinsing at least once, blend well with purified water or add some…

To make sauerkraut, use a medium size head on cabbage. Carefully remove two of the outer leaves keeping most of them intact. Run the cabbage through a Champion Juicer or similar device with the blank plate. Place in a large bowl, put the two leaves on top, place a plate on that, and use a weight to keep pressure on it. Age for 2-5 days in warm weather and longer in cold weather. Remove weight and plate. There may be some visible mold present. Don't be alarmed. The two leaves that were used will…

Coconut can be fermented longer by fermenting in purified water instead of the Coconut Juice. Follow the same recipe, but age for about 24 hours. Be cautious with fermented foods as always.

Start with a young Coconut.
Drain out the fluid and put It aside. Split the Coconut open and
scoop the meat out into a blender. Doesn't matter much if it is a
cheap blender or an expensive one.
Add about half the fluid from the Coconut to get the blender to
blend it up. Add more if necessary. Place in a glass container and
age in a dark place for about 8-10 hours.
If blended in the morning, it should be ready around dinner time.
There should be bubbles present in the Coconut puree.
Fermented…

Rejuvelac is a raw probiotic drink best taken in the morning after
breakfast. Ann Wigmore brought the concept to the US from Europe.
She said she got the idea from the folklore and mythology there.
Originally rejuvelac is made from grains like wheat and rye. I
prefer to use cabbage. The dead grains that will begin to decompose
in the mixture will contaminate the drink. There is no guarantee
that any batch of sproutable grains is 100% sproutable. Cabbage will
always make a fresh batch.
I use a…

What would happen if I ate only Sprouted and Fermented Foods in an entire meal?
It felt like a spiritual experience to me. Energy was flowing freely through my body. It wasn't just energy. Energy may cause only movement. It was more like cellular revival. Instead of a person being one life form controling an organism, I felt like there were other living organism alive in me. I felt it most in my hands.
Until this day, I had not tried it before. I have eaten sprouted and fermented foods as a…

This is a humble effort to get more people involved in a raw foods housing and farm community. Advanced raw foodism has created a demand for farmland in order to grow a larger variety of the most nourishing foods. I have definitely noticed that foods that are freshly picked and fully tree or vine ripened are much better tasting, more nourishing, and satisfying than conventional store bought foods. By being able to farm a desirable piece of land, the most beneficial crops can be produced for all…

I am trying to find more of the fatty foods that will grow in warm temperatures. Avocado, Coconut, and Macadamia Nut are excellent, but just don't provide enough variety for me.
Most of the common nuts don't grow here. Almonds need cold weather to grow. They can be sprouted in the refrigerator if needed.
Most seeds will grow here, but are either hard to collect all the small seeds or require shelling.
I was asked to buy some Water Chestnuts for a farmer on a neighbor island since he can't buy…

I have spend money on organic food over the years. The ways I have brought the costs down is by ignoring marketers advice, gathering all the wild foods I can find, and buying less expensive foods.
Marketers scam you by telling you the benefits of their products without mentioning the side effects or high costs. Their only goal is to make more money off of you. Completely ignore everything they say and look right to nature for the truth and undeniably great health. Don't let a marketer get in th…

I have been eating Chempedak that is fully tree ripened. I have to
say that it is so much better when fully ripe.
Chepedak is a close relative of Jackfruit and distant relative of
Durian and Breadfruit. The difference between Jackfruit and
Chempedak is that Chempedak is long and sleder. The skin of
Chempedak can be peeled off leaving the fruit attached to the core.
Jackfruit is bigger and not so easy to cut up.
I was buying Jackfruit that was picked slightly underripe at the
expense of my burd…

My Sunflower Greens just keep getting bigger. I use organic soil that
has kelp powder, earthworm castings, and compost in it. I plant them in ceramic pots with the dish under it to keep more moisture in the soil. I water them with filtered water or leave them in the rain. Now I have found that keeping them outside, helps them to grow bigger. What's next?

Let's get started with fermented foods now. The first one I want
to introduce is Coconut, of course. Start with a young Coconut.

scoop the meat out into a blender. Doesn't matter much if it is a
cheap one or an expensive one.
Add about half the fluid from the Coconut to get the blender to

Raw Foods have the potential of either energizing or cleasing a
person, depending on who it is. I have faith that it has that effect
on me too, and that it can energize me, but lately I haven't been
getting the same excitement from eating Raw Foods.
Most raw foods materials and elders stress the importance of
Sprouted and Fermented Foods. I agree with what they are saying and
it does make a lot of sense.
Eating Raw Foods doesn't seem to energize me the way it used to.
I feel normal when I eat…

A friend asked me a few years ago if I could get Macadamia Nuts to
sprout after telling her I collect, husk, dry and shell them myself.
Just recently I found some already sprouting and dropped one off to her.
I warned her that Macadamia Nut Sprouts are very bitter and that I
couldn't even bear them. Later on she agreed with me.
Macadamia Nuts that have been dried, like most of the ones in the
stores, and have completely lost the ability to sprout. This prompted
an investigation into modern day…

I was recently able to juice a Jackfruit recently due to an abundance
of such an incredible fruit. It was sweet, a little creamy and very
delightful. It reminded me of Coconut Sprout Juice, except it was less
potent and easier on the system. I think it should be safe for all
people to try.

For those of you like myself who can't bear to eat Noni, here is
something you could try. On those busy days when you don't have time
to stop at Down To Earth for a Celery Juice or make your own, greens
can be chewed up and the pulp can be discarded. Celery is the easiest
to experiment with. People often ask why I will discard the fiber.
Well, I believe that in between meals by juicing raw foods you
concentrate the nutrients and discard mostly fiber. The body is also
able to digest and assimilat…

I've tried sprouting a lot of different nuts, seeds, grains and beans
over the years and the one I like best is corn. Now temporarily out of
stock at Down To Earth is what they call Yellow Popcorn that does
sprout. Soak overnight (not mre than 12 hours), then drain and rinse
in the morning. Keep in a sprouting jar or sprout house until a tail
has developed and the tip just starts turning green. Enjoy! Be sure
to rinse often. The method I use to sprout corn is in a pint-size
mason jar available a…

Green Juices are now available at Down To Earth. Ask for the V8 with
only organic Celery or Celery and Parsley. Add Spinach for 99 cents.
Please note that green juices are very powerful. If you are new to
Green Juices start with Celery then later on slowly add other greens
along with it. To really get ahead drink your green juice every day.
