Just when you think you have a handle on everything!

Hi again! :D Well, I thought I was doing great, keeping all the balls up in the air and all the fires under control. Well, I was close. See, I'm looking into some things that people have been recommending as far as treatments for the kids' scoliosis. One of them required knowing the degree of their curvature. No problem. I asked our chiropractor last week, and he said he'd get them to me this week. So he did yesterday. Well, there degrees of curvature are not too terrible. T's in 13 degrees. Wh… Continue

As The Dust Settles

Things are starting to resemble some semblance of sanity around here after the initial scoliosis diagnosis. I have to admit something here. We've been through this sort of thing before. Only difference is, thank God I'm eating raw food now! :) Back in 2000, when we got J's autism diagnosis, before and during my research, I took out my stress and worry and frustration out on whole pans of brownies and 1/2 gallons of ice cream. Which is how even though I had popped out the baby already the year be… Continue

Slow and Steady

Yep! That my friends is what's going to win this race. It is definitely the tortoise that will prevail, not the hare! If autism didn't teach me patience, teaching my children yoga and us all staying sane will.;) Actually, I have a little confession, you wanna hear it? Children and animals (okay, and my hubby), are the ONLY areas I have patience. The rest of my life, not so much! So, I'm sure, somewhere deep down inside, my children are grateful that Mommy didn't mind repeating for the upteenth… Continue

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Hi everyone! You'd think my life's been majorly boring since there haven't been any posts from me lately right? WRONG! Let's see, there's the cancer that seems to be spreading like wildfire among half the women I know (at least it feels like half), too many falls that I've taken in the past month and a half, and more medical challenges for my kiddos. Yep, you heard me right, not less, MORE! So here's the latest. T and lil' A both have scoliosis of the lower back. We found out last week, but yo… Continue

The beautiful things in life

Different people define beauty in different ways. That's the way things are. But I have a beautiful thing happen today that I wanted to share with the rest of you. My in-laws are here from Florida. They took my oldest and youngest to Six Flags, which means J was here home with his Momma, one-on-one. That is a HUGE rarity. So we decided to go to the swimming pool together. There have been several times where I have tried to have lil' man relax enough to let me teach him how to swim, how to float… Continue

Who inspires you?

I have various sources of inspiration. And it always depends on the day, my mood, whatever, as to who it is I'm drawing inspiration from at that particular moment. I thought maybe if I gave you a peek into some of the people that have inspired me and why, it might help you through a particularly rough day to remember who inspires you. :) Mother Theresa - Despite all her hardships, she kept an open heart and her love for God and dedicated her life to serving those who are most vulnerable and can… Continue

A huge thanks to Chadd! :D

I went to the Give it To Me Raw Meetup last night and got to meet a lot of great people. One of whom is Chadd. We got to talking about raw and autism and different things, and he was kind enough to send me a link to a WONDERFUL article about autism in wired magazine. http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/magazine/16-03/ff_autism The only disagreement I have with the article, is saying that autism might not be an epidemic.… Continue

Things I don't miss about eating cooked food.

This list could be infinitely long, if I could ever remember everything in one sitting, but since I usually can't, ya'll can forgive me and enjoy the partial list. :D

- Being morbidly obese
- Chest pains
- Shortness of breath
- Sleep apnea
- Morning breath
- Body odor in the morning and at other times during the day
- Stinky sweat
- Constant fatigue
- Surviving off of candy bars and sodas just to make it through the day
- No energy to keep up with, le… Continue

I Will No Longer Stand Idly By

Hey again everyone! I know ya'll are waiting for the story of the move, but this is more pressing at the moment.

We were at a store the other day getting clothes for the kids and myself. I was walking with J, and the "ladies" walked by, immersed in conversation with themselves. The one "lady" plowed into J, and kept walking. I turned around and said, "The least you could do when you plow into someone is say 'Excuse me'." She then had the nerve to say, "Well, HE ran into ME." WHAT? She w… Continue

I've watched that. It is so weird that they have that show on. I also watched the old v's. They are a trip- with 80s hair and the spacesuit type outfits they wear. If you look at how small our planet is compared to others like Niburu- you can see ...

Thanks for checking this out Vamp. It is truly amazing if you can be open minded enough to watch the video. People act like we haven't invented space travel. If you can accept that- then how hard would it be to accept jumping onto a planet that is...

Hi El-bo, You're absolutely right; sodium is not the problem, but sodium chloride, and inorganic mineral salt which always causes water retention and raises blood pressure. We don't need any of that.
