We know the holiday season can be busy, with lots of parties and gatherings. Most of these events serve up sugary, artificial, and/or unhealthy foods making it especially hard to stay with a raw or vegan diet.
So, come and celebrate the holidays with the local Raw and Vegan community!!

So I've been vegan for close to two weeks now and I'm trying to figure out what's going on with me.
I thought I would feel better going vegan and maybe it's just detox, but I'm constantly plagued with headaches, and I drink plenty of water.
I'm also having a terrible time trying to sleep at night. I usually hit the sack around 1 or 2 am (I am a college student afterall) and I get up around 8:30 usually, but for the past 5 days or so I haven't been able to fall asleep until around 6 or 7 am and… Continue
I've finally decided to seriously take the plunge into raw veganism.
In August I was 100% raw vegan for 19 days but I went back to my sloppy vegetarian cooked diet. At least I've been vegetarian for over a year now. I'll never eat meat again, that's for sure, it disgusts me.
So far so good! I'll be focusing on being as close to 80/10/10 as possible but I won't stress about it too much. I'll make an effort to get in several mono meals as well.
Weight: 104 kg Continue
So, this is officially the longest I have ever been able to maintain a vegan or raw vegan lifestyle. Granted I'm not raw right now, but I am vegan.
I got through the three-day hump and I have never gotten through it before. I honestly think part of it was because I didn't even think about it until this afternoon and by then I had already passed through it. Last night was particularly difficult for me, but it didn't even register in my mind what was going on.
I still haven't actually told anyon… Continue

So I didn't really tell anyone this, but I became a vegan today. I've been eating vegetarian on and off for a few months, but since I am now trying to really harness my budget and cook all of my meals at home I decided to go vegan.
As much as I would love to go raw right now, I know that I'm not ready for it, and that's okay. First I need to get myself off my addictions to animal products and processed foods and I know that someday I will get there and be raw.
But for now I need to do what I c… Continue

In my previous blog post I used Coconut Cream Concentrate in the Fruity Irish Creme Pie.
I have been recommending a Coconut Cream in my recipes for many years. I have recently been informed that the Coconut Cream that I was told was processed under 118 degrees Fahrenheit, is actually now processed at 176 degrees Fahrenheit.
Following is the email I received from one of the… Continue
Check out more videos like this one at http://reneoswald.com/videos.html I've also just published two new ebooks. A friend of mine has a terrific food blog that I wanted to share. It doesn't exactly "qualify" to be posted on this site, but I am just super proud of her. So if you are interested in some new recipes that could maybe be modified, or if you would like to help someone transition to healthier food in general, check it out!

Your dog is sooo cute! I have a dog too and two cats, and I looove them! I feed them wheatgrass and they actually choose that before regular grass wich they normally chew on in the garden.
I decided to have a 50/50 raw/cooked meal at Vita last night, having had a desire for warm meals for last couple of weeks. They had a Vegan Paella, it was amazing but it's only the second time I have had grains for a year and I had headache soon a...
