As I was busily clipping pictures and words for my 2010 vision board this morning, I came across an article in the November 2009 issue of
New Zealand Women's Health. It stopped me dead in my clipping tracks.
On page 18 was an advertorial called
Balancing Your Weight, with advice from nutritionist
Nikki Hart. The subhead? "Nikki explains…

In 1829, Vincent Priessnitz, the discoverer of Nature Cure, said: "Every acute disease is an attempt of the system to dispel diseased matter. Fever is not the disease itself, but the consequence of it. It is an effort greater than the normal power of the system."1 With that statement Priessnitz turned the healing art upside down. From then on, thinking people could see that what was once assumed to be the disease was not a disease at all but a curative effort which, if allowed to proceed, could…

I read this on Mercola's website, and then followed some personal stories on Facebook (there is a page dedicated to saving natural thyroid medicine) where people went to refill their thyroid medicine and were told it's unavailable now.
Does anyone know anything else about this?
From Mercola's site:
Major Pharmaceuticals has put out a press release saying that
they've been forced to shut down production of all natural desiccated thyroid drugs, a treatment for hypothyroidism that has bee…

Science & Art of Natural Living and Natural Healing
INTRODUCTION
Nature Cure is the name given to the philosophy and practise of Natural Living and Natural Healing.
Its present-day origins can be traced back to Europe in the 1800’s when it was called ‘The Water Cure.’
We have good reason to be proud of Nature Cure because it is the only healing art, with which I am familiar, that has not changed its fundamental principles since the day it was discovered.
North American practitioners in…

The best mind on health is yours. Because you are in charge of your actions and you can create a healthy environment.
But many people say (doctors, herbalists, vitamin pushers) that you need to take something to aid in healing. Pure naturopathy says that 'Vis Medicatrix Naturae' is the only thing that can heal you. And that my friend is your own body, your own cell, your own environment.
From the beginning of Vincent Priessnitz teachings, Naturopathy was never an exact science. There was too m…

Sense is really what everyone actually goes by, it's just that some give it away to credentials or others.
A hybrid plant occurs when two open pollinated plants are crossed. Open pollinated plants are generally less vigorous than hybrids. Sometimes there are natural hybrids where it is natural for the species survival. Being that hybrids generally grow faster, I would guess that they would have less minerals, that would be a correlation of mine. Another is that man has selected plants that suit…

Even cows will not eat it. I saw a Cannabis plant growing in a very highly trafficed area by cattle and it was untouched, every other plant was mowed short and then there was the one lone cannabis plant. Goats do eat it as I have picked some and they ate it, I do not know if it affected them though they did not seem to act any different from observation. I was curious and stripped some of the seeds off the plant and noticed the icky awful smell of the plant, it seemed to me to be a very bad smel…

There are basically two – and only two – philosophies of health and disease.
1. One – the dominant one as marketed by the medical profession is that disease is an entity which exists - in isolation to the body - and due to its nature – attacks the body of a living organism and makes it sick. The corollary to this philosophy is that a specific antigen (read as drug or medicine) is necessary to combat said ‘germ/virus/bacteria/infection’ in order to effect a ‘cure’ and return the sick organism to…

Greentantra ECOSEXY tip #24 -Recycle Your Plastic

1. First and foremost, I recommend that we avoid buying plastics whenever possible since they are not recyclable in the same way that glass, metals, and fibers are. Those materials can be recycled over and over, theoretically…

Dear give it to me raw community,
Wouldn't it be very productive for this website if people who were going to give their dogmatic opinions and hearsay, and those who only give manipulated trickled down gossip statistics actually quoted their sources? Why is it that so many people on a progressive forum like this one feel the need to boost their own authoritarian egos with advice that has nothing to back it up except rhetoric?
If you are going to make a statement of advice to other human beings…
