According to researchers at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I of the Heinrich-Heine University, Düsseldorf, Germany - "Individuals with a high daily intake of vegetables and fruits also demonstrate higher cognitive performance. Please notice that vegetables are mentioned first because they are FAR more important than fruits."
Here’s another example of ‘wooly-headed thinking’

So I posted this video of me talking about myself... narcissism at its best;).
The aim of this is for me to keep track of where I am and where I'm going, and to be able to look back at where I came from. Maybe some day I can inspire other people too...that would be awesome! Continue
Three acres of self-sustainable, off-the-grid (except for phone lines and high speed internet), permacultured, tropical lusciousness on the Big Island of Hawaii is For Sale! The property was developed by a knowledgable plantsman who has also been an influential raw foodist among insiders for the last 20 years.
Ownership includes a 100 year lease on the adjacent 60 acres, a portion of which is sub-leased out to several small, organic farmers and which entirely covers the lease fee. The pr… Continue
i already posted this in one of the groups but then decided to give it an airing on the main blog sections, so forgive me if i am repeating myself...... ;)
a guide to choosing fruit for diabetics

#B2. The philosophy of eating fruits and other foods disseminated around the world by ancient Chinese:
The ancient Chinese knowledge qualify all fruits into several different categories, depending on a type of energy that dominates in them. It deals with fruits in a similar manner as it deals with all other… Continue
For a long time I was on the fence about organic produce. Sure, I liked the idea of buying it, especially if it was grown locally, but I just couldn’t get over the cost. As my diet started changing and I started thinking more about what I was putting into my body, organically grown foods started… Continue
Raw Life Health Show Classic Video: This video was taken about a year ago of me cutting a jackfruit, picking start fruit and showing the egg fruit tree. All grown in my yard. One of the many blessings of living in South Florida. If you can't grow your own jackfruit, then visit your local Asian grocery store.

I just got back from riding my bike to an ORGANIC FARM that is sooo fucking close to my house. Sorry for the strong language, but I'm sooo fucking excited. It took less than a half hour to bike there. I just found it while looking for CSAs online the other day, so I decided to check it out. Just to see how far it is. I emailed them asking for a tour (they do tours for school kids -$7 each) It would be so fantastic if they needed help in one way or another on the farm.
I'm tired of warehousing. I… Continue
Hi guys
I'm looking for some good book suggestions here to get info on where particular fruits and vegetables grow best. Like which climates are ideal for what and also where certain fruits originate as in come from, a bit about their history, how they got spread across to other countries and when is what in season and where. And any good fruit books in general really. I want to read about and learn everything there is to fruit, a fruit diet and how to grow it.
Have you guys come across anythi… Continue
Oh, the things I ate when I was sad. Pastas, pastries, pizzas. Cookies, cakes, candies. Pretzels, cereals, bread, peanut butter, burritos, olives, chips, sauerkraut if I was desperate. Thousands and thousands of calories' worth. I've been a bit down in the dumps quite a few times before, and I was really down in the dumps the past few days. Like many, I turned to the friend who is only there to comfort the… Continue
Another slice of fruit

Terry beat me to yesterday's fruit forage piled high on the counter.
It had turned mid-day when he declared that it was time for lunch -
breakfast for us as we hadn't eaten yet.
He was standing at the kitchen counter, knife in hand and smile on
face.
I grabbed a second cutting board and knife and we proceeded to
'create' a fruit salad fit for any galloping gourmet.
- Pineapple, passionfruit, persimmon, golden kiw… Continue

My dog likes to sleep between my legs. Warm and I rather not speculate what's going through Mr. SS McCracken's head. Then again, he likes to sniff the cat's butt after using the litterbox :hurl:
