There are many reasons why people are overweight – stress, lack of exercise, lack of knowledge concerning correct nutrition, over-worked, laziness etc. But I believe one of the most potent reasons for overeating is emotions. It is a well-known fact that we all have emotions, in fact, since we came out of the womb we have expressed emotions: we usually come out with a cry then we begin to smile, laugh, and as we grow we become more expressive of our emotions; we love, we hate, we fear…there are a…

One of the fears I encounter with people who are interested in joining
my program is, that they can’t have something. What happens when emotions come up and they can’t have that comfort food? Those starches? That chocolate? or, whatever it is they crave?
Well, the difference between
my program and weight loss diets is, there is no “can’t have”. What it will come down to is “want to have”.
One of the most exciting moments (whic…

Last Monday night when training with my teacher and the group, I noticed that my teacher was looking like he'd gained some weight.
After class we were talking and he'd mentioned he'd gained back about 8-10 pounds.
He told me he realized it wasn't about the food; he'd not been doing his former habit of binging and throwing up BUT he was overeating. What he did realize, for himself was that it was about having the good. This makes sense because when we reach a certain level of good which is beyo…

My best therapist whenever I am feeling less than optimal, is a simple pen and paper. "The ultimate truth process" guides me to the essence of the issue by a few simple questions.

Hi, all. This blog can also be seen at:

As I travel down my personal healing road, I keep finding that much of my healing depends on my emotional state. I can see this very clearly because my bloodsugars are higher and my general health is worse on those days when I'm feeling stressed, angry or otherwise uncontent. I also know that much of my cravings and desires to feed my mouth when my stomach is…

So, as some of you may know, my personal life has experienced a bit of turbulence over the past year. Which has caused me to yo-yo back and forth between cooked and raw. Which has made me very unhappy, which has made me yo-yo some more, which has made me more lethargic, which...
You get the general picture. I remember when I first went raw about a year and a half ago. It was an overnight decision and my first few months were smooth. I heard Anthony Anderson of rawmodel.com talking about food ad…

What: your favorite smell.
Why it makes you feel really good: the theory of aromatherapy states that aromas influence the brain to prevent or relieve diseases and symptoms, especially those of the feeling-really-not-good variety.
What's your favorite sm…

I am always surprised at what can be achieved when I consciously, and with intent, set a big change in motion by using small actions frequently. By 'with intent' I mean by deciding that when I make small changes, they set a motion in process for bigger wanted changes that seem beyond by grasp. Then you just forget about it apart from making sure you grab every opportunity for changes that are within your means to do.
Instigating change personally/inwardly, and changes in circumstances by freein…

OK.
So I've been back on 'raw' for a few days and I already feel more energised. I don't know why I stop after a while. Maybe I'm afraid something good might happen? haha
Anyway, this time, no pressure. I need to go about it without committing to it in my usual all or nothing kind of way. It seems to be working so far, although the longer I'll stay raw, the more aware of it I'll become and I might freak out. haha
Staying calm and detached seems to be the way to go (for now). :)
On March 1st, my…

Well, yeah, the post title pretty much sums up what is going on in my life. The emotional upheaval is probably the hardest thing I have faced in a while. Eating yummy smoothies & food is easy. I want to be healthy & alive. I want to be fulfilled, nurtured and heal my body, mind & soul.
I am hoping Bunny Berry will host a new Raw Fu challenge beginning 2009. I am gearing up to go 100% by then, and nowadays, I am 80%, with the exception of cooked soup time to time.
Ok, so let's get d…

I have come to realise something I have always know, but it’s one of those things you ignore - I have emotions, which can and do manifest physically beyond just emotional eating. On the 2nd day of our juice fast, I found myself strangely emotional -just introverted and quietly confronting some of my thoughts and ingrained “beliefs” about myself. Leisa’s lecture on the Emotional Aspects of Healing came at the perfect time, and opened up a whole new perspective for me. I am still digesting the inf…

Ok ..
Here I am for the umpteenth time getting back seriously on the raw wagon. There have been major changes in my life. Job, separation, getting ready to go back to school after 20 years or more. This is where the reinventing myself comes in. Going to a vocational school for a new career.
It has been one big upheaval, but it all feels right. The separation with my other half felt right too. We left as friends, but he was very negative for me. I am getting too old to deal with that any more.…

I'm doing well these days with getting good juices or smoothies in the mornings and adding in more salads into my meals. Yesterday, I had a mango/pineapple smoothie that was out of this world. I was literally spinning during
and after that drink. Creamy, dreamy goodness! I've also been drinking pau d'arco tea which is supposed to be good for clearing infection and fungus out of the body (dealing with some candida issues).
I'm definitely in a more positive mood than my last post (thank go…
