I did this tart using persimmons and meyer lemons as fruits. It was really yummy.I must say that raw desserts are extremely delicious and at the same time a bit dangerous, because they are quite rich in calories. But sometimes one can indugle in something sweet , n¨est ce… Continue

Best frozen yogurt ever!

I just had the best frozen yogurt or a frozen yogurt that was so similar (ir not better) to the one I used to enjoy sometimes in my pre raw days. All I did was put some apple cider vinegar and agave syrup on my strawberries, (I did add a bit of balsamic vinegar as well, don't know really if that can be used in raw kitchen?) and then I froze them. I then made cashew yogurt and for the first time I managed to make a raw nut yogurt with a real tartness which I like in my yogurt, maybe because I used… Continue

Raw food experience in Helsinki,Finland

I just returned to Israel from Helsinki ,where I am originally from. I expected to spend 2 weeks in a very cold winter climate but the weather was a complete surprise; no snow, mostly raining and not even cold. I can't remember a winter when the sea surrounding the city was not covered with ice during the month of February. While it was pleasant (I hate extreme cold weather) it was also frightening, as I realized that the global warming has already managed to change the climate in so many plac

Hey that sounds really really good! I am starting a recipe making "spree" this week, and I think I am going to add this one to my list. I will replace cashews with some young coconut, I think. Thanks!

Hi yaelian

Yes both blueberries and cloudberries are much better in taste than gojiberries, definately my favorite.. I just like to know how to preserve them without coking them throughout the wintertime. Maybe put them in honey, as it preserves so much and is anti-septic? Are you interested in a Bluberryfestival in Norway this summer in the end odf August? I

must say it sounds great to live in a warm country.. but we can't go skiing there , except waterskiing and surfing ;) which is cool ...

Do they grow any cacao in Israel? We have one in our botanical garden in Oslo, indoors of course...

Kiitos, enjoy warm weather!

Hi yaelian
Love to read your nice blog of comin back from Israel.
What a difference, how is life now? Many raw folks probably have some piont when saying thas frozen plants have destructed enzymes... As you so rightly say, sprouting is possible.. and great mixed in with greenhouse goods.

Hope to come to finland one day in not too long time...
we're looking for a wood fired sauna oven. We even have a group for al finns, swedes, and the rest of the scandinavian countries that you a welcome to join! Maybe a gathering in scandinavia soon?

Have a raw and gentle fasting-time...

peace n love, Grunde

Hi there & thanks for the invite. How's your raw food journey going? (or are you already 100%?)

Chimps, bonobos and orangs eat a lot of fruit, but there is good evidence that chimps have dental adaptations to eat meat, but they can also do without it.

Dorothy - I know it is hard to keep up with. I was referring to the post about your husband and dogs. It was just very sweet. :)

Chimps eat fruit (mainly) vegetation (rarely) and insects (even more rarely) and smaller monkeys (when available) but they are not -strict- fruititarians.

"I have seen young children pull the wings off of butterflies for fun" Yeah, but not for food, they didn't eat them did they?
