Raw persimon meyer lemon tart

I did this tart using persimmons and meyer lemons as fruits. It was really yummy.I must say that raw desserts are extremely delicious and at the same time a bit dangerous, because they are quite rich in calories. But sometimes one can indugle in something sweet , n¨est ce… Continue

Best frozen yogurt ever!

I just had the best frozen yogurt or a frozen yogurt that was so similar (ir not better) to the one I used to enjoy sometimes in my pre raw days. All I did was put some apple cider vinegar and agave syrup on my strawberries, (I did add a bit of balsamic vinegar as well, don't know really if that can be used in raw kitchen?) and then I froze them. I then made cashew yogurt and for the first time I managed to make a raw nut yogurt with a real tartness which I like in my yogurt, maybe because I… Continue

Raw food experience in Helsinki,Finland

I just returned to Israel from Helsinki ,where I am originally from. I expected to spend 2 weeks in a very cold winter climate but the weather was a complete surprise; no snow, mostly raining and not even cold. I can't remember a winter when the sea surrounding the city was not covered with ice during the month of February. While it was pleasant (I hate extreme cold weather) it was also frightening, as I realized that the global warming has already managed to change the climate in so many…

Hey that sounds really really good! I am starting a recipe making "spree" this week, and I think I am going to add this one to my list. I will replace cashews with some young coconut, I think. Thanks!

Hi yaelian

Yes both blueberries and cloudberries are much better in taste than gojiberries, definately my favorite.. I just like to know how to preserve them without coking them throughout the wintertime. Maybe put them in honey, as it preserves so much and is anti-septic? Are you interested in a Bluberryfestival in Norway this summer in the end odf August? I

must say it sounds great to live in a warm country.. but we can't go skiing there , except waterskiing and surfing ;) which is cool ...

Do they grow any cacao in Israel? We have one in our botanical garden in Oslo, indoors of course...

Kiitos, enjoy warm weather!

Hi yaelian
Love to read your nice blog of comin back from Israel.
What a difference, how is life now? Many raw folks probably have some piont when saying thas frozen plants have destructed enzymes... As you so rightly say, sprouting is possible.. and great mixed in with greenhouse goods.

Hope to come to finland one day in not too long time...
we're looking for a wood fired sauna oven. We even have a group for al finns, swedes, and the rest of the scandinavian countries that you a welcome to join! Maybe a gathering in scandinavia soon?

Have a raw and gentle fasting-time...

peace n love, Grunde

Hi there & thanks for the invite. How's your raw food journey going? (or are you already 100%?)

I've been ordering chlorella, SBX and Lipase from the USA --- fortunately, a friend of mine is splitting it with me, so the postage is not as severe. You can juicers, dehydrators, etc at www.newhorizon.co.il They are a bit pricey, but the only ones that I know of who carry the best. As far as a Vitamix or Blendtec go, I think that you may have to order from the company. When I called Blendtec before I moved here, about 8 months ago, they said that there are no distributors here in Israel.

Actually, I was following Matt Amsden's recipe in Rawvoluton and I was missing the sunflower seeds, so I substituted walnuts---just put it in the dehydrator.
So, where in Israel are you?
I will be giving a class in raw pasta on Jan 1 at 6 at the Brio Yoga Studio in Ma'ale Adumim. ----

Shalom, Yaelian---from Finland and Israel?
How does that work? Are you in Israel now? Anyway, our trip to the Dead Sea was postponed until next Fri. because of rain. Please feel free to post to L'chaim Yisrael --- I plan to have some discussion forums and recipes there -- coming soon-- I'm preparing to make a raw onion bread recipe -- however, I'm missing an ingredient. So, I'll have to substitute---this may work out even better

ReAwakening

Good Morning! I just thought I would post to say hello to everyone, as I am coming back after a long haul of taking care of others who were in very bad straights, which in turn put me in very bad straights too.  I am back to being me now, and pursing the life I have wanted and missed for so long.  I am growing my holistics and massage practice in Coppell, TX, healing myself, and thriving! It looks like many of the folks I knew when I first truly embraced raw veganism are not around.  I was…See More
