Recent DC transplant who discovered Raw Food from an awesome internet show called Kung Food created by Luke Cummo.
I like yoga, rock climbing, and hanging out.
Since I moved to DC, my diet hasn't been what I'd like it to be. Hopefully I will be able to learn from the other members ways to implement raw food into my life in the city.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Being part of a community is the best support. It's natural to synchronize with the group your in. You'll start to dress the same, talk the same, and you will feel obliged to eat the same. So if you want to stay raw, you will need to be part of a raw community.

I don't really like "real" cheesecake... But I LOVE this raw vegan version!!
I'm surprised that there was any left to make an actual whole dessert... I kept "taste- testing" along the way- Effing Delicious!
I would love to come to that picnic but unfortunately my mom is in town so we are getting together before she departs, but THANKS for the invite!! Have a fun time!
Haha, I can picture myself doing that exact thing...
Both of those ideas sound great, I'm up for either, or combine them for a happy hour brunch!! Though, the only farmers market that I am aware of is in Old Town alex... that or Eastern Market???
Mmm.. that sounds really tasty!!! What happens when a guy eats it? Haha...
That's cool, the only other kind of yoga that I have done is I tried a Jivamukti class.. it was pretty good, I think it is some form of Ashtanga.
Hey, How's it going?
I started going regularly in January, so I haven't been doing it for too long ( I still suck at it)
That raw cheesecake sounds like it would taste good... do you have a specific recipe you wouldn't mind sharing??
I do have lucid dreams (but not on a regular basis) & I find them fascinating. Shaping reality with them? That's something I've never heard before, it sounds exciting. Those Mayan wavespells are very in-depth. I'm quite interested in western astrology, so the Mayan charts intrigue me as well.
A hiking/meditation group sounds awesome. I don't have a car (or $$ for that matter), but I've been planning to take a bus up there one of these weekends, as I have some friends in the area. I would definitely plan to meet up with you guys if I did.
I was somewhat suprised at how most are very accepting and into raw foods. Most of my comrades eat mostly carbs and startches, so I don't think it would work out best for them. As for me, I dumpsterdive all my produce.
As for Ayn Rand, from what I've heard of her beliefs, I don't think I would be so into her.
How important is salt to the human diet? I never really added much salt to my meals (mainly pepper) before going raw but until recently I would of added himalayan salt to every raw salad over the past 9 months. I have been off it for around 2-3 we...
The smoke points are important for those people who are cooking with oils, but not those that are 100% raw foodists. Because I get many questions from those that are transtioning, I feel that it's important to answer some ot those questions also. ...
Thank you. :)
How'd you come up with the 6 weeks? I know that Lukas had an amazing experience at your center and looks amazing.
When are you gonna write a book?
After I tried (three days in a row), the Raw Spaghettis at GRO, (my favorite local place in Portland ME), I ran home and ordered the tool that would allow me to make raw pasta and so many other dishes! The blades are very sharp, so be careful if y...
Hi Michele,
I recently posted much or my story here somewhere...maybe it was in a note to someone who had asked...
In any case, I started studying nutrition in 1977 out of personal interest. I was primarily interest in gaining muscle weight and ...
