thanks! I didn't know that. I grow mungs, but they never get past the 3/4" stage. I'm going to experiment with growing them as you do.....sounds like a great variation!

Heehee... Xerxes. So true. Tele is rockin' the photo/sex concept. This could become a gi2mr competition...for the calender, of course.

I've already had sex with the photographer....looking to conquer the juicer now ; ) (the chute is enticing, but the twin augers are keeping me at bay......)

He was just posing trying out the new idea that you should look at the photographer like you want to have sex with the guy

thanks NF. Pretty sure I was looking at my juicer..... The camera was on tripod in 10sec. countdown mode. I started laughing and it turned smirky. (trying to figure out a new camera)

"things i've said"

priceless

thanks for your kind words.....

i'm really torn about how to approach this place...it has become an entirely different beast since i first joined a couple of years back...my gut feeling is to avoid talking about anything to do with food 'cept on my own personal space/page/blog but some things just need to be addressed....i'm sure i won't be able to help myself

but the drama comes at a high price....i'm here for the laughs and my soon to be started 'return to 811 blog'

you seem to have quite a lot of interesting strings to your bow...hopefully i'll get to kow you a bit better before i disappear again :o)

peace out

I actually knew that was from Napolean Dynamite, hee hee! That's one of my favorite movies! "You KNOW I'm a trained cage-fighter". LOL!

No- I've never hunted. My dad used to bow and rifle hunt. I've attempted to pull back the string on a compound bow, but it was set at too many pounds of pressure for my wimpy arms! I had better luck (and more fun) shooting rifles and shotguns!

Profile Information

About Me:
20 years vegetarian (nearly vegan, but not strictly)
60 to 80% raw currently (transitioning to hi-raw and maybe 100%)
student of Permaculture design (certified via Bill Mollison 1997)
network administrator
process control designer
recording/live sound engineer
soil builder
red worm rancher
farmer of greens, in soil trays, under lights
sproutaholic
student of human nature (having to write my own curriculum here and there : )

caution: I look for and sometimes exhibit: reason, open-mindedness, critical thinking, humor, helpfulness.

20 years ago, a small amount of blue-green algae changed my life forever... (ask me, but don't worry...I don't sell it anymore !)

THINGS I'VE SAID:

*Let's stay on the path,
to encourage seekers and each other.
But, let's laugh till we can't breathe,
when we take ourselves too seriously.

*My food prep dread has finally led to blended bliss

*Few are things this or that, white or black,
more often degrees and subtleties.
Not just two choices today,
for me.....no gloom in the grey.

*I tend to be suspicious of instantaneous results (and especially explanations) But show me again and again... and I may believe and follow.

*Our ability to affect natural systems far surpasses our willingness to understand them. (Paraphrasing Bill Mollison, Half Moon Bay, CA. 1997)

*I believe we act as filters to all that enters our world. Keeping what we can use or agree with ....and letting the rest flow by. But...how often are we conscious of the choosing? And, does the flow have ANYTHING worth filtering?

*every moment is an opportunity to recommit or change direction.
the third option is forgetting the first two.
remember with deep breaths...

*amazed by decay
lovely if its breaking down, let me watch.
the season of rot and spirits are up
fall leaves, return loaned earth minerals

*those who think they have all the answers amuse me

*use food for thoughts

*watch barriers melt and respect bloom
when you admit, without hesitation,
that which you don't know.
.....a strength often mistaken as weakness.

*attack, decay, sustain, release

*bleck

Yes! I accept the GI2MR Oath.

less fear...more quest!

It's too easy to be cautioned into not taking action on the raw path. Too many tales of mistakes and troubles and musts. Be fully prepared to "fail yourself forward" and make some mistakes. Better to make adjustments to your course along the way... than to never start your journey.

Don't buy into the crap that there is a specific raw diet which is best for everyone (ie: 80/10/10, Natural Hygiene, 100% raw vegan, Essene, etc.) So many of us are coming from SAD (Standard American Diet) and there are amazing gains to be had just by eliminating the junk and STARTING to bring in the raw foods and juices. Cut yourself some slack and trust the food to help push you along and gain some energy back. Be patient with yourself...it took years to create your current level of health, so....doesn't it seem sensible that it may take a few years to turn things completely around? It may. Trust the process, take the baby steps, and keep moving forward! (I'm not preaching, I want to be encouraging and.... I'm smiling...... and I hope you are too!)

Homemade raisin experiment

I have wild grapes growing in the backyard. They are tiny (about 1/4" in diameter) and have seeds inside. Until now, I've usually just grabbed a bunch to nibble as I walk past the garage. But.....

Last week I got the crazy idea of picking a bunch of them and putting them in the dehydrator for a few days. I really didn't know what to expect. Would the seeds ruin them as raisins?

Well, they turned out fantastic! I can't believe how tasty and wonderfully crunchy these raisins are..... I'm getting… Continue
