hey Olivia....hope you're feeling better. I have to chime in on the side of eating fruit for regularity. That's what's worked for me. And it also helps with my attitude and general feelings of wanting to be alive. But I know that whatever works fo...

I second that. If you are eating a raw cleansing diet, but not evacuating your bowels, that combination can cause even more trouble. I also second that green juices help evacuate the bowels. I was eating almost all fruit before and a few tender gr...

Just a little though for both of you: Nutrition and lifestyle as you know is paramount to good health - and is most probably the primary cause of disease nowadays. But a lot of the time, there are other issues which may reside in the body itself ...

A choice of practice is all very personal....

The most important thing is to find a style and a teacher that you can fall in love with. Consistency and regularity is very important with yoga practice. So, look around and try to find a class and teacher that you want to spend a lot of time with.

Where do you live...?

It's kinda fun being the only one here(that I know of)

I have learned a lot about myself, with the added luxury of having to 'foot the bill' all on my own. I've never read so many books in such a short amount of time. I've truly grown immensely ! And it's fun to educate people who are interested...I never just solicit information. I feel like that is almost always counter productive. people immediately go on defense, and rightfully so :) -You need to seek change on your own terms.

I am not sure what kind of Coconut it is. Seems like Coconuts come in different shapes and sizes. I can share how I sprout the Coconuts. Happy to hear someone wanting to try the Sprouted Coconut and sprout them at home too!

Co-op is good, basically a grocery store that fits the health vibe a little better, plus friendly people. Usually lots of good locally grown produce too, and none of the produce is anything less than pesticide free...so, not bad :)

Yeah, I'm definitely flying solo-raw in Tallahassee, haven't met anyone else here who is raw, or even close ! Have met some cool people who are intrigued by raw foods, as a concept, but I'm not sure that they are ready to put it into action...the want is just not there! For now, I'll just strive to be the best example I can...hopefully that's what all of us can do...it's really the best catalyst for change....slowly and naturally.

hmmm....Dr. Strangelove is typical Kubrick, cold-war satire...it's great, but just be in the right mood for it :)

Totally feel you on the north Florida=southern Georgia ! No real raw love here, but it's cool...there's a good co-op here, that makes things comfy :)

How are things where you are?

About Me:
i was 100% raw for about two and a half years. i started raw for health, environmental, and animal rights reasons, though, like many of you, my journey became more spiritual than i ever thought possible. Right now i am struggling with undermining myself, which is something i do quite often. For the last eight months i haven't been eating very healthily, and it has been affecting me quite negatively....
I am finally ready to start over.

serious bowel problems

Within the last four days, I decided that I would finally make the transition back over to an 80/10/10 type of diet, which I actually ate a little under a year ago and experienced tremendous health benefits under.
But between that period of time and now I have been eating a very high fat diet, full of daily servings of nut butter and avocados. Within the last couple of months, I have been noticing that my bowel movements are becoming less and less frequent... and so, understandably, I am becomin… Continue

How I naturally gravitated to 80/10/10... without ever having read the book!

Like many of you, I just recently received a copy of 80/10/10 by Dr. Graham, and I have to say, I was a little surprised at what I found. Three years into raw, my diet instincts actually brought me to the 80/10/10 lifestyle without me even being aware that I was living and eating in a way that had been said to give innumerable health benefits and vitality, so much so that a book was actually published on the subject.

And vitality certainly was what I experienced: I could exercise for hours, I s… Continue

Welcome to the future

Here's some exciting news that I discovered while reading through a National Geographic magazine today.
Just putting it up for all of you green movement, foreward thinkers out there:

I say that we should appreciate the ingenuity rather than focusing on the ways in which the UAE can afford this.

Quiet girl.... not so quiet.

Today I had the urge to visit a local raw restaurant that is a great place to visit if you are a novice to raw foods, and just learning the in's and out's of this lifestyle- i.e. not quite free of your cooked food addiction... but for a girl like myself, 3+ years into her journey and no longer in need of transitional foods, visiting this local raw food restaurant and eating their culinary cuisine, doesn't do wonders for my system. As always, I've managed to turn something good into a personal ev… Continue
