no there are no genetically altered trees or any other plants allowed in NZ. We also don't really have a lot of mining here apart from a few small gold mines and coal mines - we have no minerals used in the car manufacturing process as far as i am...

Support is everything - share the love

Just wanted to blog a bit about Dhrumil's video post and the sherpa idea ... I love it. In my own experience of running groups for women and raw over the last 20 years or so, support is absolutely everything. The boards i am happy to be a part of, are the ones where everyone is "wearing their big girl panties" (lol) and don't get easily offended, but also where it is guaranteed you will get support for anything - be it good or bad that is happening in your life. Sharing the love is such an easy… Continue

claggy today

and i know exactly why. feeling a bit stressy and overwhelmed with all i have on my plate at the mo, and yesterday i reached for some foods that i knew would not serve me.

started off badly first thing by dropping one of my containers of smoothie that i take to work each day. so that was not good ... was running late and just left it there. got to work and my boss had invited someone for morning tea ... so i had a drink and a date scone ... went out and grabbed a vegetarian samosa for lunch (qu… Continue

Raw milestones

I have now been high raw for six months ... starting mid January 2008. Over that time i have lost a significant amount of weight (20 kg/42 pounds or 3 stone, depending on what country you live in!) That is represented by dropping about three clothing sizes ...... and a rapidly changing wardrobe as i try to keep up with myself! Just bought the smallest pair of jeans i have owned in about 19 years, which was a great feeling!

I am also feeling great, energy levels are high and i am consistently wa… Continue

experimentally speaking ...

the last week has not been the best for me on the raw front, and i am ok with that. bought a pizza for my son's dinner the other night - with no intention of having any, but ended up eating two pieces for myself. haven't had pizza for months.

so i was interested to see what effect it might have on me. little bit clogged up on Sunday morning, then come Monday, my right elbow was extremely painful at work. i work on a computer pretty much all day, but haven't had any issues with rsi or oo… Continue

media - tion ...

yeah you got it, not meditation but media - tion .... i had my photo and a story about being raw in our daily newspaper yesterday.

not for my own glory you understand, but to promote a talk by Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes who are down here in New Zealand at the moment. They are speaking here in Christchurch on April 4, so, being the good little PR consultant that I am, I contacted the health reporter at our daily paper and gave her a heads up.

She decided she would do a story… Continue

I live in Florida, the agriculture here sucks, its all chemical oranges and chemical gmo sugar beets. So, no I don't grow my co-op food. I order through an organic wholesaler and put boxes together for people of a nice mix of fruits and veggies that appease me : ) At some point I will probably put my sprouts in the boxes if people want them, which they will. I do my personal garden to learn and feed me some. Preparing for someday being totally self-sufficient and I learn by doing. I don't plan on being in Florida forever, its weird and the climate is brutal for growing food and everyone is stacked on each other and if the trucks stopped delivering food, i'm screwed. I have another full time plus job too. I own a construction company and do pretty much everything so needless to say, I'm a busy guy.

I'm easing into my business with an official launch by the first of the year I think. I'm doing an organic food box co-op that is going very well and hosting weekly raw vegan meetup / lecture / class thing each week which is drawing 20+ a week and offering re-education classes and raw vegan dinners but haven't begun doing those yet. I love to talk and enjoy teaching / educating people about simple self empowering things.
I've done indoor gardening in the past but not currently. I live in Florida, so its a moot point. My 25x16 covered screened patio has 3 sprouting tables that holds 80 growing trays and its always maxed out and I have 3 4'x8' raised garden boxes and a 20'x2' raised box as well in my yard. So I have all kinds of stuff growing. I set my mom up with a grow room so she can grow food in winter. I posted a thread 'grow food indoors' a few weeks ago.

Peace & Love
