Poem: For Kendra

Far above rubies is she
with luster that shames the pearl
more precious than countless gems
more radiant than sun-kissed gold
more brilliant than diamond sands-
Is she

A vessel of virtue is she
with waters of fountains pure
A mother to tender hearts
A sister to souls that yearn
A wife to pure intent-
Is she

Prized beyond price is she
Behold, how her acts unfurl!
Unblemish by time and times
Unstained by a world of pain
Yes, Far Above Rubies-
Is she

Poem: THE FROWNING CLOWN

The Frowning Clown
.
Once there was a frowning clown
Who turned his world upside down
.
His upside was his downside now
His downside was his frown side now
.
He poured out juice that just fell up
And nothing ever reached his cup
.
All his life it was the same
He'd get all wet from rising rain
.
Whenever he'd look up he'd see
The very place his feet should be
.
He wasn't happy now at all
Why, standing up he'd always fall
.
So, when he came to his wits end
He bent as far as he could bend
.
Until h… Continue

Poem: THE SUMMER IN YOUR SMILE

The Summer in your smile

The Summer in your smile
is warmth
The June that fills your eyes
brings day
A light that brightens cloud-filled skies
A hope that lifts a flagging heart
A glow that sweeps a burdened thought
away

The August of your hair
tinged gold
The touch of rose that scents
the wind
How could I forget a day
The July sun...the endless play
The lazy afternoons that stay
and you

Poem: September Wind

I went for a walk yesterday---a windy day--and wrote this:

SEPTEMBER WIND

September wind of passion

Blow!

Let thy robe billow over water
Thy hand stretch to leaf and bough

Come!

Push against the mountain
Awake the tree

Announce thyself!

The forest is moved at the sound of thy coming-
The tremble-leaf at thy presence

Haste!

Winter with her sullen silence cometh...

Throw wide thy gate
Let loose thy splendor
Till the sky with thy glory
Tame the sun
Quench the earth

Revive!

Give life… Continue
