After 20 years, my beloved Vita-Mix 3600+ gave up the ghost. With some trepidation, I ordered the Vita-Mix 5200. Will it live up to all my hopes and dreams?

I became raw because of the trailer (not even the full movie -- just the trailer was enough to turn me!) for the movie Simply Raw. But I heard about it a long, long time ago and didn't even know it. My boss 20 years ago had a close friend whose h...

Hi
I'm very interested in your post on the diabetes forum as you have a similar story to me. I had gestational diabetes in both my pregnancies and was on insulin from 32 weeks both times. I had no apparent risk factors and thought I ate healthily had the feeling it was inevitable I would get it one day too. Of course I know now I did not eat as healthily as I could and eat a high raw, high greens diet now and feel better than I have done for years. I'd be really interested to chat to you about gestational diabetes as I have not met anyone raw who had gestational diabetes.

Sorry, I missed your comment! Yes I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2001 / Liberal Studies. I met my husband there and we lived in the "village" apartments across the street. I have great memories there! What dept do you teach in?

Hi I saw you on the raw spirit festival thread. If you want to attend raw events in your area then join a raw meetup group in your area through meetups.com. This is an excelent way to get into the raw scene without having to travel the distance. Let me know how it goes.

Actually, blue-green algae is more of a bacteria than a plant like spirulina. The most common benefits are the ones I experienced: stable energy, clarity of thought, appetite suppression, sense of well-being, etc. If you do try it, make sure you give it a good consistent month or more of daily use. Also make sure the source is good, either Klamath Lake or E3 brand etc. I'd love to know how it goes for you!

Years ago, a friend suggested I take a few capsules each day for a month and just see how I felt. Well, all I can say is it opened my mind to the power of superfoods and everything else I ate. Soon after, I read the book: "Diet For A New America" and became an instant vegetarian. Since then I'm on a continuous path toward ever greater levels of health / well being. I doubt I would have followed this path without such a dramatic benefit with the blue-green algae. Now I advice everyone to give it a shot too.

Have you ever tried it?

And now... a photo

There have been quite a few posts on the forum about why folks don't use real photos on their profile. I never thought much about it really -- I used a painting of Pomona as my icon because I live in the city of Pomona and because Pomona is goddess of fruits and orchards, which seemed particularly apt for my raw journey. But since at least some folks seem to think that the connection is less personal without a photo, and because my intent here is to connect with folks in a real and genuine way,… Continue
