thanks goldendreams. I change it up--running, doing core work..i only have about 45 minutes 4-5 times a week as I have young boys (3 and 6) so I mostly rely on eating well.

Woot I am back after visiting cooked food land

I did eat some cooked food over the winter, and have been totally busy with my at-home business and just havne't been on here in a while. But today as I sat on the subway with my two young boys, completely and utterly exhausted from a mere 3 hour outing, I said to myself "this is EXACTLY the way you felt last year before you went raw!!!" and then of course I went raw, and my life changed. I got so much more energy, my mood evened out, I was happier...I had my reasons for eating some cooked foods… Continue

Back on the raw gang...and I got 3rd place in a race!

Just got a letter from the organizer of a 5k I ran a month ago enclosing a medal and saying I got third place :-O What a shocker! I ran it in 26:05 which was fast for me but given that there were 1000 people in the race I never thought I'd place in my age division. I am SO not a fast runner, and yet raw has made me fast without really trying that hard.

Since the race, I have been doing elliptical and less running, but I am getting back into it--plan to go for a 4 mile run when my husband gets b… Continue

i learned my lesson....really...

I have been a bit MIA as I have been away at my mom’s for august so hi everyone! I also wanted to save $$ over the month, and so I let my mom shop for me and my boys. My husband had mentioned something about how much money I was spending on my high fruit diet and I felt badly, so anyway…while she did shop a reasonably healthy grocery list, she definitely wasn’t buying enough fruit etc, so I began to eat some grains and legumes over the month. I would say I was about 50-75% raw for the month, as… Continue

Great Run today.....but bad night last night...

So last night i did something stupid. I had been packing all day as the fam was heading to Long Island to my mom's house for a month (and we're here now, and it's AWESOME)..Anyway, trying to pack two young boys and myself for a month whilst said boys run willy nilly around the house screaming and jumping and basically being boys is...trying. So I didn't really eat enough, and finally it's 6 pm and I was STARVING. So I made myself a bit of cooked quinoa, which I had been including a bit of over t… Continue

Still struggling...

My guess is the depression and anger that I have experienced most of my life will never go away; it will just be managed. Today I felt irritable and touchy, and I know what that means. I also felt tired--another signal to me. I didn't have my green smoothie this morning, for the first time in ages. Instead I ate some cantaloupe and a smoothies with 3 bananas and 6 plums (yummy, btw!) but I think the kale or spinach is important.

Ugh. I SO just wish this depression would disappear from my life.… Continue

I read about your 811 trial back in May 2008.How did that go for you? Did you stick with it? Any helpful tips for someone who has failed trying it out before? What wasyour conclusion on the high fat raw??? Sorrybut I have been debating with that lately....Just wondering if you have any insights...

Hi, I really find your blogs very inspirational and you look AMAZING!! From a long history of depression and meds (for about a year) I 'discovered' raw about a year and a half ago, was exercising on my cross-trainer regularly and never felt and looked better but I had an unexpected relapse last November and I guess the blanket started to creep over me and I didn't do enough to shake it off. Anyways it got so bad that i went back on the anti-depressants for the 'boost' - but the side effects make me feel unclear... Anyways, like i said - your journey inspires me. Do you mind laying out what your personal diet and exercise plan is? Ada x

I used to work right there on Whitehall and Water St. This was back in my extremely SAD days. I spent many a drunken night in the bars after work.

Nothing much shaking lately. Well, not true, I got a lot going on in my head, but in terms of things moving and grooving, all is quiet.

Just curious... where do you go running?
