hey,
i saw your comments on thinking about going to TOL or Living Light.
i am looking to become a raw vegan chef (even though i have no experience in the kitchen) and wondered if you had any info as i was considering both places myself.
I've always wanted to eat at a organic and healthy fast food joint. I've also thought of starting something similar for yogurt… Called Schwartz's Yogurt. Space Balls anyone? May the schwartz be with you.
hi jocelyn!
i currently go to iin and let me tell you,
i went in a a raw foods newbie freak and after learning about all the other diets out there, by month 2 i was completely lost. i had no idea what to eat! there are a lot of good arguments out there, for me the ayurvedic diet makes sense. i think the whole point is learning the individuality of the person and working from there. i am still working on what's right for me. but one thing i do know is that the raw foods should be a part of everyone diet. period.
p.s.
you love iin now, just wait! it gets sooo- much better.
Hey there! Seems like there are quite a few of us in the DC area-love the idea of getting everyone together for a potluck or whatever...and healthy fast food? An absolute dream come true!
hey! im not sure where that is, im actually north of baltimore city, in harford county. i havent gone to any potlucks, but the yabba pot is an amazing restaurant that serves raw food. it's in the city and is my favorite place! have you checked it out? if not then maybe we can get a group together sometime?
Hey Jocelyn- Just got your message!! Good to hear from you! We hike everywhere! Just got into the raw thing myself. Glad to see that there's someone else in the neighborhood. hope to hear from you!
Vegetarian for over a year and now more often vegan with occasional fish. Fascinated with dietary theories - Ayurveda, macrobiotic, RAW, etc. Still have tons to learn about what works best for my body (very vata). Love ALOT about raw foodism but still learning what percentage raw will work for me & how.
Super excited to be starting holistic health counselor training at Institute of Integrative Nutrition this fall. Also considering raw chef training at Tree of Life or something similar. Want to learn tons about nutrition & wellness to be in peak form to best experience life - and to share the info with people who need it, particularly those least able to help themselves - addicted, homeless, abused, elderly, ill, etc. Would also love to help start a HEALTHY fast-food restaraunt (/catering service) that blows McDonalds out of the water! Also a healthy vending machine business. Also a wellness-based interior design/kitchen makeover service. Many ideas!
Let me know if you want to help or have a potluck or whatever! :)

I would encourage you to eat oranges instead Vampi. Whole food is always best. Oranges are a perfect food; lots of sugar, and lots of fiber to slow down the absorption into the blood stream. Take out all the fiber and you've got a blood sugar spik...
since I find no reason to believe in 'allergies' against 'natural' appropriate stuff, I would think it's more likely just the fact that pineapple if bought in store is pretty much always unripe. Not that it matters to the situation perhaps.
...but...
Nicolas have you ever had a pineapple that does not give symptoms. In my experience around these hoods where we are there are practically no ripe pineapples..or perhaps a few dunno
Yes ma'am. Resting as completely as possible with eyes closed; getting enough water; avoiding too much sun; avoiding toxic substances (personal care products, cleaning products, etc.)
I enjoy writing about the deepest darkest secrets of my heart, about things I dont want to share with anyone..or lack the guts to share. Love letters mostly, but not always. If I have a dream I want to remember Ill write it down.
Come on woman! No time like the present! We may now have one more spot for our March 20 to May 22 internship session; this is truly a life-changing program and an amazing bargain...
Thanks Priyam! You are very kind and generous with your appreciation, and I appreciate the specificity. I agree with you completely that fasting is generally very poorly understood, mostly feared, and almost always avoided.
Though someone once su...
