- About Me:
- I am a homeschooling dad of four kids ages 9, 7, 3, & 1 years old (they're in my video). I am also a 'mid-husband'; in other words, I assisted my wife with the birth of all our children at home. Yes, you read that right. We had all our children at home; it is unassisted birthing or what I call 'intimate birthing'. The simple theory behind 'intimate birthing' being this: if you aren't completely comfortable with people being present during the conception, then the intimacy should be maintained for the 'reception' of the baby.
I have a financial services practice where I assist families and businesses with their risk management, college and retirement savings. I meet with clients and discover what is most important to them, both personally and professionally; it is an intimate relationship built on trust. So, I guess you could say that on a daily basis, I help people handle financial vehicles which have replaced the tontines of old. This career choice allows me to make my own schedule, tele-commute as needed and spend as much time with my family as possible.
I've always had an adventuresome spirit and an affinity for nature, thriving in a crowd and in the outdoors. As a kid I was always outdoors or playing sports. I started wrestling in 2nd grade and continued through high school; along with football or soccer, baseball, and tennis which I play to this day.
I was the underage suburban preppie kid in the downtown over-21 punk club; solo or with friends, there for the music not the drinking. I was a 'frat boy' who challenged that stereotype, and after college I lived in the Big Apple for years (my daughter loves to say she was born in Brooklyn). Choosing to follow my vision over money; I worked in community radio as a news reporter where I met my wife. I knew her voice before meeting her face-to-face.
Since having children, we’ve decided to live in a rural setting in California where our boys were born, along with a few sheep and goats.
I am a two-time graduate of the Outward Bound School and NOLS (The National Outdoor Leadership School) where I learned first hand how to lead a group through a rough, but beautiful environment.
I learned kayak and whitewater rescue at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and I am a certified lifeguard with full CPR training.
I am often asked, because of the way we chose to deliver our children, if I am a doctor. No, I am not; however, I think my second calling might be as a Natural Healer, Acupuncturist or the like. But I am happy being a 'Mid-Husband' and a father.
I eat cooked food, but prefer to eat raw as much as possible, including meat.

Assembly Agriculture Committee Passes AB 1604 with a unanimous vote!

to last minute "hallway negotiations," Assembly Bill AB 1604 passed
with unanimous consent during Ag Assembly hearings held on Wednesday.
This will ensure, for now, the continued flow of raw milk in California.

I am having my first meal of the day: a bowl of broccoli with a lemon, tahni, garlic, date sauce. It is good.

I know cows are studied and tested. I'm not sure about humans...
COWS LIKE (grass, magic mushrooms) and make best milk this way. If it is processed grain (wheat, corn), then acid, mucous buildup and pus cells in the milk and they kic...

You wanna both snowboard and ski? You usually have to stick to one if you want to master it. Not saying you can't do both, but maybe wait until you got the hang of it before switching up.
I feel that way about just about everything that's raw related. Food, appliances, whatever.

I thought you looked farmiliar! Our kids homeschooled last year. Wish I had known you were raw and Primal for that matter...ha ha! Well, it's Blessed to meet you here and I look forward to connecting more...and we should have a raw potluck in SC. I'm going to start a SC meetup here soon so hope to collaborate perhaps. I remember that video we did at SLV on picture day too...ha ha ha!

I don't know what brought me to your page but my heart is so full now. I'm in shock of the beauty of your family an your amazing photography eye as well as you being a mid-husband.
